RACE TWO

MISTER DECORUM (5) will take benefit from his Qld debut on Wed night when finding the front from gate 3, he was leading them up before being collared in the closing stages. With the added fitness he doesn’t meet anything harder in this and despite the gate can look to capitalise.

SCHEU CREEK (4) returns from a spell and will be 1st up since June without a public trial to prepare. Down the line last start behind FEELINGFORARAINBOW, he had run into some handy 3YOs since arriving in Qld. This looks easier than what he had been meeting last campaign and he has claims.

IM SANDY BAY (6) doesn’t have any favours from inside the 2nd line, but he is racing well at present and a maiden breaking win won’t be too far away. 2nd to SEA HAWKE last time, he needs some luck.

BARBOO (2) settled in the pocket trail last start from gate 2 when finishing just beyond mid-field behind ARES. Back to the sprint trip helps his chances and he can chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: MISTER DECORUM (5), SCHEU CREEK (4), IM SANDY BAY (6), BARBOO (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MISTER DECORUM (5) to win

RACE THREE

TAYLOR HOOD (3) has met some stronger opponents at his past 2 starts as he heads back towards a fitness peak following 4 runs back from a break. Strong in the breeze last start over the AP 2138m when only beaten a half-head, that made it successive starts beaten the same margin. This appeals.

MISSINMEMATE (1) took on the Marathon here last week and struck trouble in the run that put him out of play. Starting from a wide gate the start prior over the Redcliffe sprint trip, he struggled to find position when finishing midfield. From the gate he will get to make his own luck.

MOONLIGHT BUTCHER (7) has been in great touch this season, landing 4 wins, with the victories coming at his past 5 starts. Slicing his way along the passing lane to score last start, he can feature again here.

ARES (5) found the 1x1 trail from the 2nd line last start and with a patient drive was able to wear the down in the stretch in a dour last panel. Luckless when beaten a head 3 starts back, he can place.

SELECTIONS: TAYLOR HOOD (3), MISSINMEMATE (1), MOONLIGHT BUTCHER (7), ARES (5)
SUGGESTED BET: TAYLOR HOOD (3) to win

RACE FOUR

LIVING FREE (1)
lands a gate reversal here after starting from wide off the 2nd line last start where he was working home strongly wide off the track to grab the silver behind the dictating winner GIGANTIC JASPER. Grabbed in the closing stages here 3 starts back, he can look to dictate here.

MARTHAS VINEYARD (8) broke the maiden tag here last Sunday in scoring a 3m victory, sprinting nicely once angled into open space to claim the prize. A horse that has been besieged by poor manners, she can take the confidence from that win and look to build on it here.

IFYOUBELIEVE (3) found himself too far back in the pack last start from the 2nd line at Redcliffe and didn’t really get into the contest. Placed his previous 2, his record on this track is strong.

HEADWIN (5) resumes from a spell and has been to the trials twice to open the pipes in readiness. Grabbed in the closing strides last start prior to the break, he can be thereabouts in this.

SELECTIONS: LIVING FREE (1), MARTHAS VINEYARD (8), IFYOUBELIEVE (3), HEADWIN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LIVING FREE (1) to win

RACE FIVE

UNDERTHEKILT (3) landed the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last start in a much stronger contest and when the leader hoisted the white flag, he lost momentum at a vital stage. Only 4m away from GOTTA MOMENT 2 starts back, with good early speed he can look to pinch this.

RAGING INFERNO (5) pressed ahead to take control over the 2138m 2 starts back and from the front was able to keep them chasing in holding on to win by a head. Working to the breeze from the 2nd line last start and only beaten 2m, he can get into the contest again and throw down a challenge.

MAYWYN NO REGRETS (7) will take further benefit from her latest outing when 2nd up from a break. Working home best from the 2nd line to score at Redcliffe over the sprint trip, she can feature again.

SLIPPERY JADE (8) was too far back in a mares qualifier last start behind the slick winner ISLAND BANNER. 1st up from a freshen in that contest, look for a sharper effort against these.

SELECTIONS: UNDERTHEKILT (3), RAGING INFERNO (5), MAYWYN NO REGRETS (7), SLIPPERY JADE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 3-5-7-8

RACE SIX

TOPNOTCH MACH (3) went around on Thurs at Redcliffe from the 2nd line which followed from his precious start when landing gate 6. A horse that does his best work in front dictating, he was only beaten a neck 3 starts back using that pattern. Spearing off the arm, he can look to go all the way.

STEVIE DEE (2) will have the benefit of starting from the pole and from there should receive the perfect run in transit. Wide off the track on Thursday she was hitting the line strongly in the closing stages to grab the silver behind SOULWRITER. She will be probing the opening.

KARINYA MULLY (7) was strong in the breeze here 2 starts back when holding on for the bronze and only 3m from the winner AQUA CRUISER. Fading last time after a tough trip, he can be sharper here.

BET IM SPECIAL (8) made the most of a gate 1 last start when looking to take them all the way over the Redcliffe 2280m trip. Gripping on for 3rd, it was an improved effort and he can place again.

SELECTIONS: TOPNOTCH MACH (3), STEVIE DEE (2), KARINYA MULLY (7), BET IM SPECIAL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: TOPNOTCH MACH (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

DOLLARBILL (2) has raced his way back into some form and backs up here from Thurs at Redcliffe where he wasn’t suited when buried away in the run. Beaten a half-neck here 5 starts back when facing the breeze in a new track record, he then franked that effort with victory. A winner again here 2 starts back, he will be mighty hard to stop in this.

CALL ME YOURS (3) took on a mares qualifier last start when she found them too sharp and was down the line in the 1.53.2 mile taken by ISLAND BANNER. A tough effort when fading late over the 2138m 2 starts back, that had followed a hat-trick of victories. Back to the ‘Burg, she can challenge.

WANJIRU (8) started from inside the 2nd line here 2 starts back and was away from the inside early and worked home best to score. Despite the tough gate she can be again closing out strongly.

RUNFORTHEROSES (7) will take good benefit from her run here last week when 1st up in Qld off the back of a 6-month spell. 7m in arrears of the winner DOLLARBILL, the added fitness will help.

SELECTIONS: DOLLARBILL (2), CALL ME YOURS (3), WANJIRU (8), RUNFORTHEROSES (7)
SUGGESTED BET: DOLLARBILL (2) to win
