RACE TWO

After causing a big upset here 2 starts back ROCK BOTTOM (3) was game in defeat here last week when holding on for 3rd behind the passing lane winner LE TISSIER. Buried in the run when finding space to sprout wings to defeat MANILA PLAYBOY the start prior, he can claim success in this grade.

IT AINT THE MONEY (5) was sent forward from this same gate here last time over the mile but was repelled for the lamp lighting duties and obliged to sit parked. Grafting it out, he was gone on the bend but rallied and arrived for a narrow win up the passing lane. He will again throw it down.

BEAU CISHLOM (6) sat rearward last week before attacking the line with venom over the closing stages to run IT AINT THE MONEY to an eyelash. He can be charging home again here.

HERBS HERO (8) will be requiring an element of luck fortune as he looks set to be buried in the run. Easing from gate 7 last start before finishing hard to be 5m from HEMSWORTH, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: ROCK BOTTOM (3), IT AINT THE MONEY (5), BEAU CISHLOM (6), HERBS HERO (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCK BOTTOM (3) to win

RACE THREE

A five-time winner here at The Creek, THE ANNOUNCER (4) has a win and been runner-up on 2 other occasions here at his past 4. Pressing on to take control over the 2138m here last week, he tried to fight them off, only to be nabbed up the passing lane. With early bullets he can stave them off.

FOND MEMORIES (2) eased her way forward in mares’ company here last time out and content to it parked proved too strong in claiming a first over victory by a head margin. Runner-up from the trail 3 starts back, she can look to find the pegs and have the options thereafter to challenge.

CHASING THE WIND (10) did some early work prior to receiving cover here last week but was unable to go on with it in the latter stages. Strong to the line from this gate 2 back, he can be joining in.

GOLIGHTLY (8) fired off the arm to take control in a qualifier here last week and from the front kept the challengers away to claim a 2m margin. Likely buried, he will be probing for openings here.

SELECTIONS: THE ANNOUNCER (4), FOND MEMORIES (2), CHASING THE WIND (10), GOLIGHTLY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: THE ANNOUNCER (4) to win

RACE FOUR

The extra staked races are proving successful and this qualifier looks a beauty. Returning in super order this season, HEMSWORTH (11) remains undefeated in 4 starts since returning from a spell. Carving it out in front last start, his return run saw him rip home in impressive fashion and with plenty of tempo, can descend on them.

BIG WHEELS (7) was fresh last start to tackle his first assignment of his 4YO term when hustled out of the machine from this same gate to punch out a 54.1 mile on the front end. Too strong in his last 3YO appearance prior to Christmas when breaking 55 for his last 800m in front, the gate stings his hopes.

SOHO SINATRA (5) shoots for the hat-trick after a Redcliffe win at the 1780m was followed with a gritty win here over the 2138m. He can look to get forward to settle handy from a slightly sticky alley to stake his claim.

LADY AVANA (1) has placed at her past 3 starts and charged home to be a half-neck away last start. In a race with multiple hopes, the alley to secure the economical trip gives her podium claims.

SELECTIONS: HEMSWORTH (11), BIG WHEELS (7), SOHO SINATRA (5), LADY AVANA (1)
SUGGESTED BET: HEMSWORTH (11) to win

RACE FIVE

PHILANDERING CHEF (8) was a winner here 5 starts back, in early December, when firing off the arm to take control and set a new career PB of 1.54.4. Close to FIRST STRING at his next outing, his latest start saw him beaten by a wide gate. Stalking the speed, this looks within reach.

PEBBLE SANDS (1) fired off the arm at Redcliffe 3 starts back to take control over the 1780m trip and kept the speed on throughout in claiming a 5m victory. Not far away in a qualifier at his next start behind THE IDEAL DANCER, he was just 4m away last start. From the gate he gets every chance.

THE GENERAL (10) was a winner over the 2138, here 3 starts back when pressing on to take control and pulling clear to a big 12m victory. Not offering much in 2 starts since, this is easier, and he can bounce back.

STRONG RESPONSE (12) has returned from a spell in fine fettle, claiming 3 wins in 4 starts and a gritty 3rd placing. Winning his past 2 outings from the front, he has the tough gate to overcome.

SELECTIONS: PHILANDERING CHEF (8), PEBBLE SANDS (1), THE GENERAL (10), STRONG RESPONSE (12)
SUGGESTED BET: PHILANDERING CHEF (8) to win

RACE SIX

Looking to have every chance from the pocket trail last week, AMERICAN FLYER (1) was yielding ground when the speed went on to fade to the rear. A winner in a mare’s qualifier 3 starts back when leading throughout, she looks a better conveyance in front and from the gate has the map to suit.

EXPLICIT CASTLE (8) started from this same alley last week and was soon buried in the run and searching for the gaps. Finishing midfield to LE TISSIER, he could not go with them the start prior when the power went on in the 3rd panel. Tucked in behind, he can take the snipers shot.

BLUE MOON RISING (9) loves sticking to the poles and making a closing challenge and has the gate to duck down to follow that pattern. From the fence he can feature.

BITCOIN (6) has slowly built into the campaign after resuming from a spell and lines up here after being the runner-up at his past 2 outings. Chasing from 3 poles last start, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: AMERICAN FLYER (1), EXPLICIT CASTLE (8), BLUE MOON RISING (9), BITCOIN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-8 / 1-2-6-8-9

RACE SEVEN

BLUE IVY (5)
was shooting for a hat-trick of victories last start when coming up with gate 10 in a strong qualifier taken by PIPPA MAGUIRE. Too gritty when sitting parked over the Redcliffe 1780m the start prior, it followed a smart win and despite a potentially sticky alley, she can prevail.

HEAVENLY WISDOM (1) was sent out as the favourite here last week in a 2nd division mare’s qualifier when pressing on to take control from gate 4. Trying to fight them off, she held on for the bronze behind CHARM OFFENSIVE. With the benefit of the gate, she gets the chance to challenge.

GOALKICKER (8) was looking to take them all the way last start but was unable to see it out when overpowered in the latter stages. Stalking the speed, he will be ready to strike in this.

ROSIE ROCKS (10) was stepping out for her first attempt in Qld last week when a clearer passage would have seen her finish closer than the 4m deficit she faced. Better luck can see her feature.

SELECTIONS: BLUE IVY (5), HEAVENLY WISDOM (1), GOALKICKER (8), ROSIE ROCKS (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BLUE IVY (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

Making his first appearance to kick-off his 4YO term, CHAMONIX (7) has no favours from outside the front line. Runner-up in the Members Cup here 2 starts back when wide off the track and finishing 2m from CAPTAINS PICK, he was game when parked outside BIG WHEELS at his last outing. Despite being fresh up since December 22, he can arrive.

ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (5) eased from gate 6 last time out to settle at the rear of the pack and was then the best of the chasers behind the reinvigorated SOHO SINATRA. Only 7m from LE TISSIER the start prior, the form from that race is well referenced with 6 of the 9 in the field being subsequent winners.

DOCTA FEELGOOD (2) scored a determined victory at Redcliffe 2 starts back when obliged to grind it out from gate 5 when parked. Strong to the line behind THREE IN HEAVEN last start, he has the gate to be right in the fight.

LEFT A TERROR (9) eased from gate over the 2138m last start to find the poles and search for the shortcuts when chasing behind OHOKA CHOPPER. This looks easier than recent outings.

SELECTIONS: CHAMONIX (7), ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (5), LEFT A TERROR (9), DOCTA FEELGOOD (2)
SUGGESTED BET: CHAMONIX (7) to win

RACE NINE

He may have been beaten by the wide here last start when forced to retreat but L L COOL J (1) comes up with the gate to look for the bounce back. Finishing off smartly for the silver behind SPEECH IS SILVER, it followed 3 successive wins at 3 different distances, and this looks his to lose.

SPEECH IS SILVER (7) lines up to look for 3 successive FFA victories after claiming the prize over the mile at his past 2 outings. Sent forward in both victories and content to sit parked, it has shown an added level of versatility to his repertoire. Summing up the situation early, he will throw it down.

MISTERFREEZE (2) has been racing in nice order of late, his latest appearance when grabbing the bronze after closing out in nice style behind SPEECH IS SILVER. Darting in behind the speed, the cosy trip will be ideal.

WILL THE WIZARD (3) could not muster the early pace last start at the mile and had to eventually work his way to the front after 600m. Going down the back, he had no spells left to repel the challengers as he faded back through the pack. Fitter for the run, he can be sharper.

SELECTIONS: L L COOL J (1), SPEECH IS SILVER (7), MISTERFREEZE (2), WILL THE WIZARD (3)
SUGGESTED BET: L L COOL J (1) to win

RACE TEN

Easing back soon after the start from the wide gate last time out, SIR FAHRENHEIT (6) owned superior closing power to sweep home over the top of them and score a victory at the mobile mile. Just 2m from DOUG the start prior at Redcliffe, he can settle early before entering the battle in search of his 15th win here at The Creek.

DOUG (5) was sent forward to sit parked last start after coming from a 40m impost, but the toil told as he wilted over the closing stages. Striking trouble that ended his chances here 2 starts back, he can look to take an early advantage to stake his challenging claim.

STRESS FACTOR (2) started from the 10m tape last start when easing down to the poles before a sound finish at his first outing in over six weeks. With early speed out of the machine, he can feature.

JUSTABITNOISY (1) was safely away from the tapes here last week before taking cover and then chiming in for the bronze when 8m from TAM OSHANTER. He has the gate to chime in again.

SELECTIONS: SIR FAHRENHEIT (6), DOUG (5), STRESS FACTOR (2), JUSTABITNOISY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SIR FAHRENHEIT (6) to win
