RACE TWO

ULAANBAATAR (5)
was 2nd up in Qld here last week when asked to sit parked and after the tough trip, she was unable to cope and faded back through the pack. Buried in the run here first up, she attacked the line along the inside to grab a smart 2nd after losing her momentum. This looks more suitable.

SHAKATIE (8) looks set to enjoy the perfect trip in behind the speed here and can be in the right position to strike. Chasing hard behind CATCH PHRASE at Redcliffe last start when sitting in the trail, she was sound to the line the start prior from deep in the pack. She will be stalking the speed.

RANCHO MAN (1) will take further benefit from his latest appearance where he was 2nd up from a spell. Resuming when 3rd after taking the trail from this alley, he has the options to chime in.

WHATELEY (4) was working hard in the run here last start and continued to give all the way to the wire when runner-up to the in-form ALLSTAR SEA. Close to TRACER BULLET 3 runs back, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: ULAANBAATAR (5), SHAKATIE (8), RANCHO MAN (1), WHATELEY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ULAANBAATAR (5) to win

RACE THREE

Completing her 2YO season relatively under the radar, ROSES ARE SWEET (8) still managed to end the term with 4 wins and a G1 3rd from just 6 starts. Shooting for a hat-trick of wins here, she claimed her past 2 runs since resuming from a spell, including an upset at Redcliffe when breaking the 2YO fillies track record after tucking in behind the speed. The 2nd line options appeal here.

TORQUE TOTHEMUSIC (2) made a winning return last time out at Redcliffe when sitting parked and proving too strong to pull clear for a 5m victory. Sneaking into the Triad Final back in July with a strong win here from gate 7, his night was ended when striking trouble in the G1 Final. The gate helps.

FUTURE ASSURED (7) has no favours from the outside paint but will strip fitter from his return when runner-up to ITS BACK PAGE NEWS. 6m from AWAYWEGO in the Triad Final 2 starts back, he cannot be overlooked.

DELIGHTFUL LOU (5) has had just the 2 career starts, with a debut win when followed with a late closing 2nd against the older horses when within 2m of the winner HECTOR. She can feature again.

SELECTIONS: ROSES ARE SWEET (8), TORQUE TOTHEMUSIC (2), FUTURE ASSURED (7), DELIGHTFUL LOU (5),
SUGGESTED BET: ROSES ARE SWEET (8) to win

RACE FOUR

Easing from gate 7 over the middle trip 2 starts back MAYWYNS COURAGE (2) was attacking the line in the closing stages from deep in the pack. Sent to the post as the favourite last start, he didn’t warm up and was midfield behind FEELINGFORARAINBOW. Back to the mile with his early hustle looks ideal.

GAME SET MAJOR (3) resumes from a spell after a three-start Winter campaign did not really go to plan. Striking an issue first up in the Patrons Purse claimed by L L COOL J, he was gunned down in front 2nd up when 5m in arrears. With a smart trial to prepare, 4 of his 8 career wins have been here.

KENSINGTON BILL (1) broke a win drought here last start when making full use of a cosy trip in behind the speed to dart up the passing lane to score. In danger of being buried, he will be probing.

MAFUTA VAUTIN (6) was 2nd up from a spell here last week and was sound to the line in the small field as THE ANNOUNCER took control in front. The small field and tempo will help again here.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYNS COURAGE (2), GAME SET MAJOR (3), KENSINGTON BILL (1), MAFUTA VAUTIN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYNS COURAGE (2) to win

RACE FIVE

After breaking through to claim a maiden victory here on Friday, WARRAWEE FLYER (8) beats the handicapper to get a 2nd crack in maiden company. She will need a slice of luck, starting from inside the 2nd line here following her all the way win, but with the confidence, she can capitalise if the gaps open.

THE CROM (2) is the most experienced in this field, boasting nearly the same number of starts as the rest of the field combined. Finding the trail from 2 off the 2nd line last start, he used the passing lane to grab the bronze. At his first start here at headquarters, he can find the front and have the options.

MISTER GALVINATOR (1) should take benefit from his race debut at Redcliffe where he finished 5m from the winner to grab 2nd. Holding the trail from inside the 2nd line, he still has some learning of the race craft to take on, and lost his way somewhat, but closed out nicely. The gate is a bonus.

WHATA SPORT (3) has faced the starter on 3 occasions, the latest when fading out after retreating from gate 6 when the field was released. Closing nicely for 3rd when 2nd up, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: WARRAWEE FLYER (8), THE CROM (2), MISTER GALVINATOR (1), WHATA SPORT (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

Returning for a Summer campaign MISTERY ROAD (4) has developed a handy record here at The Creek in previous campaigns. Last seen at Bathurst when chasing behind IYLAC BEACH, the start prior he was a close-up 2nd at Menangle when 2nd up from a spell. He can make a winning return.

PINUP BOY (2) has gone 2 years without a win and although his numbers don’t show much in recent starts, he has faced some tough gates. At his best when able to get to the front, he has been forced to retreat from wide alleys at his past 2 starts. The tighter gate can be the catalyst for an improved return.

RUN BUSINESS RUN (1) makes his first appearance for the visiting Cernovskis stable, arriving with a last start 3rd at Leeton. Sent forward from the 2nd line to sit parked in that, he can be thereabouts.

LIFES BLACK (6) started his season with a gritty win at Redcliffe when sitting parked over the sprint trip and grinding out a tough win with a neck to spare on the line. The gate stings but he has claims.

SELECTIONS: MISTERY ROAD (4), PINUP BOY (2), RUN BUSINESS RUN (1), LIFES BLACK (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MISTERY ROAD (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

FOUR STARZZZ FORSA (1)
did some early work here last week at his first run back in the Sunshine State, eventually finding running line cover before making a closing rally to be just a head from the winner. Chasing at Goulburn the start prior in some slippery closing splits, he has the gate to cash in.

BOHANNAN (8) was beaten by gate 7 last start when retreating early and from back in the pack he could not warm up over the closing stages. Buried away the start prior when retreating from gate 4, he lands the alley o secure the economical trip and will be in the position to strike.

MAJOR GENERALJUJON (4) eased to the poles from gate 3 here on Saturday night and was saved for one sniping run along the passing lane. Attacking the line strongly, he grabbed the bronze behind the passing lane winner BEAU CISHOLM in his best effort since resuming from a break.

MAJORDOIT (5) has now had 3 starts back from a spell, the latest when buried in the run after starting from inside the 2nd line. Trying to make closing ground here 2 starts back, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: FOUR STARZZZ FORSA (1), ), BOHANNAN (8), MAJOR GENERALJUJON (4), MAJORDOIT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: FOUR STARZZZ FORSA (1) to win

RACE NINE

AYE AYE CAPTAIN (5)
was wide off the track at Redcliffe last start when trying to make a closing play after starting from the 2nd line. His past 5 starts have all been at The Triangle with the past 4 all coming from a 2nd line alley. Back to the front line in this line up, he gets his chance to capitalise.

LANCELOT BROMAC (9) eased from gate 6 last time out before making his closing move where he was finding the line in nice order for 3rd behind SHES KOALA TEE. Not far away behind SO AM I 2 runs back, he returns from a rare week off and can challenge in his start to the new season.

JOEY LINCOLN (4) has faced the ODM embargo at his past 2 starts, the most recent when snagged back to the poles and then charging late to be just a half-head away. Back in the main draw helps.

REBLINE (8) took full advantage of conditions last start when sent straight to the front from gate 2 and once in control fought them all off to score her 2nd career win. From this alley she will be probing.

SELECTIONS: AYE AYE CAPTAIN (5), LANCELOT BROMAC (9), JOEY LINCOLN (4), REBLINE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: AYE AYE CAPTAIN (5) to win
