Ipswich transferred to Sunshine Coast Polytrack

Racing Queensland can confirm following further inclement weather the Ipswich Turf Club race meeting for Wednesday, July 6, has been transferred to the Polytrack at Corbould Park, the home of Sunshine Coast Turf Club.

The decision to transfer the meeting was made following a track inspection on Tuesday morning and the determination that there is no likelihood that the racing surface will at Ipswich will recover sufficiently in time for Wednesday's race meeting to proceed at that venue.

The transfer of the meeting has necessitated changes to the distances and starting limits of some races on the program. 

Detail pertaining to these changes is:

  • Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate – was 1350m, is now 1400m and the starting limit remains 12;
  • Maiden Handicap – was 1690m, is now 1600m and the starting limit is reduced to 12;
  • Class 1 Handicap – was 1690m, is now 1600m and the starting limit is 12;
  • Three Year Old Benchmark 65 Handicap – remains at 1100m and the starting limit is 14;
  • Class 2 Handicap – was 1350m, is now 1400m and the starting limit is 12;
  • Benchmark 72 Handicap – was 1690m, is now 1600m and the starting limit is 12;
  • Benchmark 70 Handicap – was 2150m, is now 2180m and the starting limit is 14;
  • Benchmark 75 Handicap – was 1200m, is now 1100m and the starting limit is 14; and
  • Ratings Band 0–68 Handicap – remains at 1100m and the starting limit is 14;

Trainers should note that following the meeting’s transfer there will be no fees applicable to nominations/scratchings, irrespective of the time when they were transacted.
