RACE TWO

A mixed lie-up here with those missing the Be Good Johnny earning a start in this race. ROCK WITH SAM (4) fits that description and will be fitter following his last outing when first up from a break. Easing from gate 4, he was too far back against the tempo to eat into the deficit. Settling closer to the action will aid his cause.

CLINTAL DO (5) is the emergency for the Be Good Johnny and will take his slot here should he fail to get the call up. The sprint trip is not his ideal set up, but he is classy enough to throw it down in this field. Sectionally strong at his first run back from a spell with no trial last time, he looms large.

MAJOR FERNCO (1) pressed on to find the front last week before taking over and was then best of the chasers as MACH DA VINCI ran riot. That was at the 2138m and with a return to the sprint trip here, should be in a position to chime in.

VIRGIL (9) was well beaten here last week, but so was most of the field as MACH DA VINCI handed out a spanking to his rivals. Game in defeat when working hard in the run to be 3m from REPLACED EYE 2 starts back, he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: ROCK WITH SAM (4), CLINTAL DO (5), MAJOR FERNCO (1), VIRGIL (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCK WITH SAM (4) to win

RACE THREE

A tricky contest to weigh up with most in this field having limited exposure over the 2138m. Add to that the main players are first up, it makes it far from being clear-cut. The class runner no doubt is BIG WHEELS (10), but he falls into the above two categories and also comes up with the outside 2nd line. Despite that, his class could be enough.

CHAMONIX (7) was shut down after his down the line run in the Qld Derby where it was a sound effort from gate 10 behind AMERICAN DEALER. The pipes have been opened through a trial hit out and although gate 7 is a big dampener, somewhere near his best puts him right in the frame of this.

DYNAMIC DAN (8) is another resuming and comes up with gate to get the economical trip in behind the speed. A winner over this trip in the Triad Consolation 4 starts back, he will be probing for openings.

TEE JAY CEE (5) comes into the race fit and in-form with 3 wins in his past 4 starts, including a win at this trip 2 starts back when finishing over the top. Perhaps not as classy as the main players, he is improving at each outing and the fitness is a huge plus.

SELECTIONS: BIG WHEELS (10), CHAMONIX (7), DYNAMIC DAN (8), TEE JAY CEE (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

The form trotter in Qld right now is SIR FAHRENHEIT (2) who made it three successive wins last start when scoring a clinical victory, taking them all the way under the same conditions he meets here. Setting a new track record over the 2647m stand start to start the hat-trick, he comes up with the gate to make the quartet a reality.

STRESS FACTOR (5) was making his first Qld appearance here last week when sent straight to the front and dictating over the 13 furlongs to a 3m victory. Taking benefit from the run which was his 1st in five weeks, his mobile record is good, and he can look to throw it down.

MAJESTIC SIMON (8) will need a slice of luck at some stage from this gate as he searches to work his way back into some form. Sound to the line off the 30m impost, he will be probing for a gap.

GEE UP NEDDY (9) sat parked from the 10m here last week and was giving to the line when holding on for the bronze behind STRESS FACTOR. Trailing through to settle handy gives him podium hopes.

SELECTIONS: SIR FAHRENHEIT (2), STRESS FACTOR (5), MAJESTIC SIMON (8), GEE UP NEDDY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SIR FAHRENHEIT (2) to win

RACE FIVE

With three runs back this campaign and none of those against her own sex, SCARLET BABE (5) should relish the conditions on offer here. Sectionally superb from gate 7 here last week when retreating early and then attacking the line to be 5m from BLACKSADANCE, her first up win was slick, and she has the class to capitalise.

WAHS FIRE BUG (2) loves The Creek and added another win to her tally here last week and added to her stretch to make it 11 straight top-3 returns. Sent straight to the front from gate 4, she held them off for victory by a neck margin. Runner-up to ROCK FISHERMAN after sitting parked the start prior, she will be throwing it down.

JERADAS DELIGHT (3) was not suited by a tough trip nor the prevailing weather conditions here last week and a line might bets be draw through the outing. Close to TURN IT UP the start prior, she can swoop.

FAME ASSURED (8) should appreciate a return to mares’ grade after tackling the open ranks in recent outings. Never spotting a gap last start behind NORTHVIEW HUSTLER, she can be finishing off hard.

SELECTIONS: SCARLET BABE (5), WAHS FIRE BUG (2), JERADAS DELIGHT (3), FAME ASSURED (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SCARLET BABE (5) to win

RACE SIX

There has been plenty of recent speculation over who is the top seed FFA horse in Qld and this race will confirm the answer. Brilliant last week in the slop, MACH DA VINCI (11) handed out a pacing lesson last week in a dominant win. A 51.1 winner from the front 3 starts back, he has been super effective off speed previously and the versatility here will be beneficial.

TURN IT UP (4) has won his past 3 starts in succession with ease, two of those over the 2138m trip and one at the mile. Leading throughout in all 3, the quickest opening half he has had to lay out in those wins is a 59.4 when winning at the sprint. That has meant he has been able to turn and burn for effortless victories. This will be different territory, but he has the class and confidence.

DEUS EX (9) remains undefeated in 3 starts since arriving in Qld, the latest a power running mile when putting up an 11m winning margin in carving out a 1.51.4 mile without being extended. He looks to slit in behind the speed to make a closing play.

WILL THE WIZARD (2) comes into this fresh but has been tuned up at the trials with a smart hit out. Completing a threepeat of wins last start, all powerful front running efforts at the mile, he can fire some early bullets here and look to be first to the poles.

SELECTIONS: MACH DA VINCI (11), TURN IT UP (4), DEUS EX (9), WILL THE WIZARD (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MACH DA VINCI (11) to win

RACE EIGHT

This $50,000 Final saw 4 heats conducted on Thursday night and this field lines up in the barrier they chose. The most impressive of the winners was UNCLE SHANK (2) overcoming gate 7 when slicing across to find the front and once in control was never in danger. Loving to roll in front, this looks right in the wheelhouse.

THE ROCKNROLL KING (9) was the slowest of the four heat winners, but he also did it the tough way, sitting parked and grinding out a starchy win. Starting to really hit the right notes, he has now won 4 of his past 6 and been runner-up in the other 2. Following through at the start, he can challenge.

THE GENERAL (1) draws to get the soft trip in behind the action and will be waiting for the passing lane to take his shot. Charging home to claim his heat in impressive fashion, he can snipe.

MAJORCA (3) fired out to lead her heat and from the front was never in danger in a stylish win fist up. Undefeated in Qld, she may need to do it the tough way here but looks up to the task.

SELECTIONS: UNCLE SHANK (2), THE ROCKNROLL KING (9), THE GENERAL (1), MAJORCA (3)
SUGGESTED BET: UNCLE SHANK (2) to win

RACE NINE

Interesting clash to assess here where the two superior fillies are both resuming from a spell. JASPER (9) has been tuned up with a pair of trials in readiness, the second of those in a slippery trial where DEUS EX ran it hard in sharp time. Last seen when 4th in the Qld Oaks, the trailing draw might just be enough advantage.

SHES MISS DEVINE (6) also resumes following the Oaks where she was further down the line but worked hard in the run when sent forward from gate 12. A tough win in the Redcliffe Oaks when sitting parked and defeating JASPER, she has opened the pipes with a Redcliffe trial and will look to take the early advantage.

CASH QUEEN (7) has the wide gate owing to an ODM embargo but might just be going better than some of her rivals. Unable to go with them as ITZ CHEROKEE JACK scored last time, she has podium claims.

TYPHOON TORQUE (8) grabbed the bronze at Redcliffe last start when easing early before picking up late metreage behind the winner SWEET LOMBO. With an economical trip, she can be probing.

SELECTIONS: JASPER (9), SHES MISS DEVINE (6), CASH QUEEN (7), TYPHOON TORQUE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: JASPER (9) to win

RACE TEN

Hitting the board in 7 of his 8 starts here at The Creek, HERBS HERO (8) will be reliant on some factors but should be in the stalking position ready to strike. Sectionally strong last start over the 2138m when runner-up to CRAZY SHIPPO, he can get the cosy trip and make the closing shot a winning one.

GLENAEAGLE WARRIOR (1) was beaten by gate 7 last start when retreating early and then never really getting warm as CHASING THE WIND took it all the way. From gate 5 he was under 2m from the winner here 2 starts back and from the gate looks to get his chance to dictate.

LIFES BLACK (3) went around at the non-TAB card at Redcliffe on Tuesday where he fired out of the machine to lead from gate 6. Only grabbed in the closing stages, he can again be in the mix here.

THE HUMMER (4) has been in nice touch and took them all the way 2 starts back in a 2nd division qualifier. Grinding it out when 3rd to LE TISSIER last start, he can again be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: HERBS HERO (8), GLENAEAGLE WARRIOR (1), LIFES BLACK (3), THE HUMMER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: HERBS HERO (8) to win
