GENERAL
 
A number of riders attending this meeting provided a urine sample for analysis.
 
RACE 1: COMAC EQUIPTMENT/TOP COUNTRY RATINGS BAND 0-60 H’CAP 1000M-
 
BOINGO- Declared a late scratching by order of Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 1:33pm after the gelding broke through the barriers, dislodging its rider and galloping a lap of the track riderless.  As a result of this incident App. Gittos reported he was suffering some discomfort to his left leg, however was able to fulfil his remaining engagements. Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on the mare be refunded with the following deductions to apply-
1st- 22cents the win, 24cents the place
2nd-22cents the place
 
No racing incidents.

 
 
RACE 2: ELLIS CONSOLIDATION/GLOBAL LIGHTING SOLUTION /LAND TRANSPORT CLASS B HCAP 1000M-
 
Following the running of Race 1, C Schumacher was examined by the ambulance officials and stood down from his remaining engagements due to dehydration. Jockey Schumacher was advised he will be required to obtain a medical certificate prior to next riding. Rider replacements were made as per the Stewards summary.
 
EXCCED TO WIN- Began awkwardly. Laid in despite the efforts of its rider in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
LOGSPLITTER- Raced wide throughout.
 
WICKED GRIMSHAW- Bumped on jumping. Checked when awkwardly placed at heels near the 800m and then shifted wider on the track.
 
MULGA THUMPER- Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
RACE 3: EZYQUIP HIRE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M
 
Stewards acceded to a request from Trainer C Smith to allow Jockey C Bryen to ride DIXIE LEE 2kg overweight as there was no other senior rider available at the allotted weight.
 
DARTS- Began awkwardly. Reluctant to stretch out during the early stages.
 
DIXIE LEE- Bumped heavily on jumping.
 
RACE 4: LYN & JACK CARMICHAEL MEMORIAL RATINGS BAND 0-50 HCAP 1300M
 
AURIC GOLD- Threw its head in the air on jumping, was reluctant to stretch out and lost considerable ground. Trainer M Johnstone was advised a warning would be issued against gelding.
 
HIDDEN CHIEF- Began awkwardly and over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
NOTHING TO DANCE- Raced wide throughout.
 
HUSSON’S SHOUT- Raced wide throughout.
 
RACE 5: SHERIDAN DELFORCE TRANSPORT MEATANT CUP BENCHAMRK 65 HCAP 1300M
 
Following a heavy downpour of rain following Race 4, Stewards and a delegation of Senior Jockey’s determined that the track had become unsafe for racing and therefore the final race was abandoned at 4:05pm.
