Race 1 – MOUNT FRANKLIN QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP 1200 METRES
Guntantes – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
Bigboyroy – Eased near the 900m when tightened to the inside of Leshrac, which shifted in after being steadied whilst racing keenly off the heels of Raay Of Dreams.
Leshrac – Jumped away awkwardly. Had to be steadied off the heels of Raay Of Dreams
 whilst racing keenly near the 900m when that runner shifted in. J. Lloyd, the rider of Raay Of Dreams was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Sizzling Babe – Held up and unable to improve between the 550m and the 400m when it then attempted to shift outwards to obtain clear running and in doing so made contact with Concealed Dynamite. Laid outwards under pressure over the final 100m.
Raay Of Dreams – Jumped awkwardly inwards, making contact with Concealed Dynamite.
Concealed Dynamite – Bumped by Raay Of Dreams at the start. Bumped near the 400m.
Kim Alicia – Slow to begin.
Silk Stockings – Slow to begin.
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to SOFT 5.
Race 2 – COCA COLA CLASS 3 PLATE 1600 METRES
Reckless Choice – Eased near the 1300m after racing up on to the heels of Chavo.
Saxton Rock – Raced keenly in the early stages and got its head up on a number of occasions. Rolled out near the 400m after being brushed by Reckless Choice. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings other than that the gelding was moderately dehydrated.
Sicario – Slow to begin.
Tatcee – Eased shortly after the start when crowded between Saxton Rock and Chavo, which rolled outwards.
Race 3 – CANADIAN CLUB BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP – 2200 METRES
Mutarakem – Raced wide in the early stages and thereafter raced keenly in the middle stages. Brushed with Miss Sara for a short distance near the 600m. Bumped with Miss Sara making the turn into the straight. Eased over the concluding stages when crowded for racing room between Pickelhaube and Miss Sara, which shifted in under pressure.
Evolo – Slow to begin.
Naked – When questioned, apprentice C. Bayliss stated that his instructions were to race in a rearward position, however, after jumping reasonably well and with a number of runners to his inside, rather than be caught wide he elected to race in a forward position, however, once obtaining the lead he steadied the pace in front which resulted in other horses improving around his outside and them taking up forward positions.
Miss Sara – Brushed with Mutarakem for a short distance near the 600m. Bumped with Mutarakem making the turn into the straight. Apprentice C. Gallagher was fined $200 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
Perfect Witness – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide from the 800m.
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 4.
Race 4 – JIM BEAM QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP – 1050 METRES
Defence Missile – Taken inwards to obtain clear running whilst making ground approaching the 200m.
Sanglier – Proved to be extremely difficult to settle in the early and middle stages.
Snicki Minaj – Inconvenienced and carried wider near the 700m when Sanglier shifted out whilst overracing.
Accumulated – As L. Tilley was to be overweight, M. Cahill was substituted as rider. L. Tilley was fined $200. Clipped the heels of Mishani Hustler near the 400m and was speared wider on the track. Apprentice C. Bayliss, the rider of Mishani Hustler, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that at that point he shifted his mount outwards when insufficiently clear of Accumulated. Apprentice Bayliss’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 14 days, to commence at midnight on Wednesday 13 February and to expire at midnight on Wednesday 27 February 2019.
Race 5 – CASCADE BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1050 METRES
Whycatchim – Raced keenly throughout. The veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding had heat stress post-race.
Desert Cowboy – Bumped with Initialize on jumping.
Kid Flash – Raced keenly for a short distance approaching the 800m whilst racing wide.
Annatime – After being slightly slow to begin was then crowded between Scorcha and Warface, which jumped awkwardly inwards.
Scorcha – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
Initialize – Bumped with Desert Cowboy on jumping.
One Stryke – Laid inwards under pressure in the straight.
Warface – Hung inwards in the straight, resulting in its rider being unable to ride his mount out fully. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
Back Chat was a late scratching at 8:30 am.
Race 6 – CANADIAN CLUB CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1200 METRES
Curdled – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result made contact with Lord Barrington.
Super Suave – Laid inwards and proved difficult to ride out over the final 200m.
Drumbeat’s Choice – Slow to begin.
Lord Barrington – Bumped by Curdled on jumping. Commenced to race keenly near the 900m and had to be restrained off the heels of Curdled. Momentarily held up making the turn into the straight.
Goodonya Sonja – Trainer L. Gough was fined $200 for failing to declare M. Murphy as rider by the prescribed time.
Quick Ketch – Dipped on jumping and as a result jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide from the 600m. Held up for clear running in the early part of the straight.
Race 7 – COCA COLA QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP 1350 METRES
Alpine Dancer – Returned to the enclosure with the saddle having slipped back.
Enterprise Prince – Carried inwards on jumping, making contact with Spending My Time. Raced wide without cover throughout.
Red Stina – Slow to begin.
Spending My Time – Bumped heavily on jumping, losing ground. Raced keenly passing the 1000m until nearing the 800m. Bumped and carried wider near the 300m when Missie Archer shifted outwards.
Fat Max – Jumped awkwardly inwards at the start, bumping Enterprise Prince in on to Spending My Time, which was bumped heavily and lost ground.
Love Struck – Laid inwards over the final 200m.
Race 8 – CASCADE OPEN HANDICAP 1350 METRES
Sir Bacchus – Crowded at the start, losing ground.
Dreams Aplenty – Raced wide without cover throughout.
Peacock – As apprentice J. Guthmann-Chester was unable to fulfil his engagement due to injury, apprentice M. Murphy was substituted as rider. Apprentice Guthmann-Chester was advised of his requirement to produce a medical clearance prior to his next ride. Cast the off fore plate in running.
Xebec – Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 400m and the 200m.
Dream Finnish – Bumped at the start and then bumped another runner.
Bushy – Bumped at the start. Near the 800m was steadied outwards away from the heels of El Campeador, which was racing keenly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small scratch to the off fore knee.
Oink – Had to be eased outwards away from the heels of Urban Ruler near the 1200m.
El Campeador – The near hind plate required refitting behind the barriers, delaying the start.
Sword Of Justice – Jumped inwards at the start, making contact with Dream Finnish, which then made contact with Bushy, resulting in Sir Bacchus being crowded and losing ground. Shifted out under pressure over the final 100m.
Urban Ruler – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to race.
Race 9 – TAB CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1600 METRES
Le Juge – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Held up and unable to improve between the 500m and the 300m.
Unique Magic – Had to be eased shortly after passing the 200m when awkwardly placed on the heels of Rothabye, which laid outwards. Apprentice C. Bayliss, the rider of Rothabye, was shown the film and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Conquering Lass – Stewards permitted apprentice M. Murphy to ride the mare claiming 1.5kg of his 2kg allowance.
Shadal – Slow to begin.
Slydini – Raced three wide in the early stages.
Rothabye – Laid outwards in the straight.
