Race 1: VALMONT COATINGS F&M CLASS 6 H'CAP – 1200M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow M. Cahill, the rider of 4th placegetter CALZINI, and B. Laming, the trainer of the horse, to view the stewards’ patrol footage shortly after the start to determine whether there were grounds on which to lodge an objection against the 3rd placegetter PRUE’S ANGEL. After viewing the videos both parties indicated that they did not wish to proceed and correct weight was declared.
 
FEMME FIREBALL – Raced wide throughout.
 
MISHANI ELECTRA – Momentarily inconvenienced near the 150m when DREAM KISSES shifted out abruptly.
 
SUPER TONIC – Raced wide without cover.
 
DREAM KISSES – Stewards permitted apprentice B. Nothdurft to ride the mare claiming only 1kg of his allowance, however he was fined the sum of $100 under AR143(14)(a). Hung inwards between the 400m and the 150m and brushed the rail on a number of occasions.
 
FELINO BEL – Crowded and bumped for a number of strides shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
CALZINI – Crowded and bumped for a number of strides shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
Race 2: MITTYS C,G&E CLASS 6 H'CAP – 1200M
 
Trainer L. Hatch was fined $200 for failing to declare apprentice B. Nothdurft as the rider of FOMO by the prescribed time.
 
PERFECT DARE – Raced three wide without cover.
 
ECHO EFFECT – Held up for clear running making the turn into the straight.
 
TAILLEVENT – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
EF TROOP – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid outwards from the 400m.
 
FOMO – Had to be steadied near the 100m when improving up on to the heels of ECHO EFFECT.
 
TRAUMATISED – Slow to begin.
 
Race 3: AMBASSADOR TRAVEL BENCHMARK 80 H'CAP – 1350M
 
Trainer L. Hatch was fined $200 for failing to declare M. McGillivray as the rider of GREYWOLF by the prescribed time.
 
BEL BURGESS – Hung outwards shortly after the start.
 
SNITCH – Slow into stride after jumping away awkwardly.
 
ZOFONIC DANCER – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
MR BELLAGIO – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, which revealed a slight abrasion to the offside point of the hip, and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. Held up for clear running between the 400m and the 200m.
 
SO SPIRITED – Bumped with SPLITTER passing the 100m. Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
THE AVENGER – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Laid inwards in the straight.
 
SPLITTER – Bumped with SO SPIRITED passing the 100m.
 
ELJETEM – Slow to begin.
 
CRUZE – Checked shortly after the start when bumped and carried outwards on to the heels of SPLITTER. Held up from the 450m until passing the 200m.
 
Race 4: SUEZ QUEENSLAND DAY STAKES – 1350M
 
CRAFTY SPIRIT – Bumped shortly after the start. Raced wide with cover. Had a tendency to hang outwards from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to the off fore knee.
 
VEGA ONE – Became fractious in the barriers and got the near hind leg momentarily cast, was removed, inspected by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to race.
 
MAHIS ANGEL – Raced three wide without cover.
 
VIRAL – Overraced in the early stages.
 
FAT MAX – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
CHIKORITA – Got its head up shortly after the start when being steadied.
 
OUR ECHO – Bumped on jumping.
 
MULTAJA – Near the 1000m had to be steadied off the heels of VIRAL, which was carried out slightly by OUR ECHO. Raced three wide with cover from the 900m.
 
SHE’S A THIEF – Slow to begin and inconvenienced on jumping when OUR ECHO was bumped inwards by PROUD ROD.
 
Race 5: NATIONAL ROAD SAFETY WEEK ROUGH HABIT PLATE – 2000M
 
DEALMAKER – Shortly after passing the 1800m had to be steadied off the heels of BORAZON, which shifted in. R. Fradd, the rider of BORAZON, was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
TRUSTY LAD – Crowded on jumping between THE GOLDEN HIND and PARTNERSHIP, which was bumped outwards by A MAN TO MATCH.
 
PARTNERSHIP – Bumped outwards at the start.
 
MASSTOO – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 6: MOET & CHANDON CHAMPAGNE CLASSIC – 1200M
 
NIEDORP was a late scratching at 8:35 am for veterinary reasons. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that the filly will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
DUBIOUS – Momentarily held up for clear running near the 250m.
 
STRASBOURG – Bumped on jumping. Held up and unable to improve between the 600m and the 300m. Again held up for clear running passing the 200m.
 
CZARSON – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
JAGGED EDGE – Raced three wide from the 700m.
 
GARIBALDI – Jumped away awkwardly and was bumped by STRASBOURG. Proved very difficult to settle in the early and middle stages and near the 700m had to be taken outwards to avoid heels. Became unbalanced when bumped near the 200m by OH FIVE GLORY, which steadied outwards away from the heels of JAGGED EDGE.
 
DISRUPTOR – After jumping away awkwardly and being bumped, was inconvenienced shortly after the start when OH FIVE GLORY shifted inwards after jumping away awkwardly.
 
BALLISTIC BOY – Bumped on jumping.
 
OH FIVE GLORY – Raced wide without cover throughout. Made contact with GARIBALDI when being steadied away from the heels of JAGGED EDGE near the 200m.
 
SHOOTING LOVE – Momentarily steadied when tightened to the inside of DUBIOUS, which shifted in passing the 200m.
 
Race 7: NEWINGTON FARM MEMBERS’ H'CAP – 1600M
 
Trainer B. Smith was fined $200 for failing to declare L. Cassidy as the rider of ORDER AGAIN by the prescribed time.
 
Stewards acceded to a request by trainer J. McArdle that J. Kah be permitted to ride SMART AS YOU THINK half a kilogram over the horse’s allocated weight when jockey Kah advised that she would be unable to make the weight at 54kg.
 
MUSIC MAGNATE – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
CELLARMAN – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Steadied making the turn into the straight when SAVVY COUP shifted outwards. K. McEvoy, the rider of SAVVY COUP, was issued with a reprimand and advised to show greater care when his mounts shift ground.
 
TOM MELBOURNE – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
PLEIN CIEL – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
COOL CHAP – Held up making the turn into the straight.
 
BEEFEATER – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
MISHANI VAIDRA – Slow to begin. Had to be checked approaching the 1400m. L. Cassidy, the rider of ORDER AGAIN, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that at that point he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of MISHANI VAIDRA, carrying it inwards and having to be checked. L. Cassidy’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 12 days, to commence at midnight on Sunday 19 May and expire at midnight on Friday 31 May 2019.
 
TERRA SANCTA – Eased when tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
Race 8: TAB DOOMBEN 10,000 – 1200M
 
OSBORNE BULLS – Tightened on jumping to the inside of I’M A RIPPA, which shifted inwards.
 
NATURE STRIP – Slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
TACTICAL ADVANTAGE – Momentarily held up on the heels of NATURE STRIP near the 250m.
 
BOSTONIAN – Held up for clear running in the early part of the straight.
 
HAVASAY – Got its head up shortly after the start.
 
MAN BOOKER – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
WHITE MOSS – Crowded for room near the 150m when racing between BOSTONIAN, which rolled in, and OUTBACK BARBIE. J. Lloyd, the rider of OUTBACK BARBIE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 150m he angled his mount outwards when attempting to obtain a run to the outside of I’M A RIPPA where in the opinion of the stewards there was insufficient room, resulting in WHITE MOSS and OUTBACK BARBIE being crowded and having to be checked. J. Lloyd’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 16 days, to commence at midnight on Sunday 19 May and expire at midnight on Tuesday 4 June 2019.
 
OUTBACK BARBIE – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages. Checked near the 150m.
 
Race 9: KIRIN CHAIRMAN’S H'CAP – 2000M
 
Trainer C. Waller’s representative, Mr Paul Shailer, was found guilty of a charge under AR99(b) in that TANGLED was presented with the incorrect saddle and was fined $500.
 
Stewards acceded to a request by trainer G. Begg that J. Kah be permitted to ride OUR LIBRETTO half a kilogram over the horse’s allocated weight when jockey Kah advised that she would be unable to make the weight at 54kg.
 
I’M A PRINCESS – Had a tendency to overrace for a short distance passing the 1300m.
 
FIRST CRUSH – Bumped on jumping.
 
MONGOLIANCONQUEROR – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
MORENDI – Bumped on jumping. Near the 900m had to be eased outwards away from the heels of LIBRAN and thereafter raced wide.
