Race 1: VALENTINES DAY QTIS Maiden Plate 850 METRES
 
MISS NASTY was declared a late scratching at 1:15pm due transport difficulties for trainer Leigh Wanless.
GOALAGIO jockey Christopher Bryen was unable to make the weight and was subsequently replaced by
Lachlan Dodds. Jockey Bryen was fined the sum of $100.00 under the terms of AR120(b)
BRIGALOW QUEEN proved difficult to load, raced wide throughout.
FRENCH OUTLAW raced wide throughout without cover, approaching the home turn changed stride and started to drop out. On pulling up was found to be suffering a shattered knee to the on side front leg and was euthanised humanely.
BAGGER NEMO shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Race 2: ON THE BIT BenchMark 55 Handicap 1000 METRES
 
FORGOTTEN FEELING was declared a late scratching at 1:15pm due transport difficulties for trainer Leigh Wanless.
LIL RUBY ROSE raced wide throughout with cover.
STRIDE TO SUCCEED raced wide throughout without cover.
STRIVE TO SUCCEED had to steady on the home turn when MALIBU AFFAIR shifted out to avoid the heels of PEARLS LAD.
MYKONOS underwent a post race veterinary inspection and was found to be lame in the off fore leg.
Trainer Jason Devine was advised he must produce a veterinary certificate of soundness before racing again.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 3: ARTRAGEOUS DESIGNS OPEN Handicap 1000 METRES
 
PERSISTENT SHADOW was declared a late scratching at 1:15pm due transport difficulties for trainer Leigh Wanless.
EMPEROR MAXIMILIAN proved difficult to load and raced wide throughout.
DARTS AWAY raced wide throughout.
SPUR WITH EASE raced wide throughout without cover.
 
Race 4: GLADSTONE RACING MARCH 2ND BenchMark 45 Handicap 1194 METRES
 
I AM DAN was declared a late scratching at 9:25am by stewards acting on veterinary advice.
WICKED GRIMSHAW was slow into stride.
LUCIFER’S ANGEL shifted out shortly after the start and bumped CHOICE SON, then approaching the
1050 metres shifted inwards bumping HIGH CALL, forcing HIGH CALL inwards to bump with MOWER.
Apprentice Nicole Seymour the rider of LUCIFER’S ANGEL was issued with a severe reprimand for shifting ground when not clear to do so.
DUAN SKILL raced wide throughout.
HIGH CALL raced wide for the majority.
Maurice Crawford the rider of NEW KINTARO was fined $100 for excessive use of the whip.
Prior to correct weight jockey Gregory Hayes the rider WILD ELEMENT which finished third made application to view the photo finish between second and third. After viewing the photo jockey Hayes was satisfied with the judges original palacing’s and correct was duely notified.
 
Race 5: FAMILY FUN DAY BenchMark 55 Handicap 1517 METRES
 
SHANNONBROOK MISS was declared a late scratching at 5:46pm by stewards acting on veterinary advice.
Trainer Clinton Taylor was advised he must produce a veterinary certificate of soundness before racing again.
Prior to correct weight being declared stewards ordered all monies invested on SHANNONBROOK MISS to be refunded and that the following deductions were to occur.
For First 31 cents for the win and 28 cents for the place.
For Second 28 cents.
