Apprentice Z. Lloyd was absent due to illness. Apprentice Lloyd will require a medical certificate prior to returning to race riding. Replacements as per steward’s summary.
Race 1:B & W RURAL QTIS CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1000m
The start of the event was delayed when OPEN WAR was unable to be held by its rider during the preliminary and galloped a full lap of the track. Subsequently declared a late stretching by order of stewards at 1:10pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in OPEN WAR be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
15 cents in the dollar for the win - #2
13 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #2
14 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #12
14 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #9
SASSY SARAH – Stewards permitted jockey S. Seedman to ride 0.5kg overweight.
QUEENOFMAINSTREET – Steadied from heels leaving the 900m.
CHEESIE – Began awkwardly. Checked from heels and lost ground leaving the 800m when BARTOS shifted in marginally. Apprentice McGillivray (the rider of BARTOS) was issued reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a).
MISS MAGNOLIA – Made contact with the running rail passing the 600m.
JANNIFER MAGIC – Over raced in the early stages. Improved onto heels and was forced to restrain leaving the 700m.
RIVER SPAN – Raced and restricted room for a short distance and lost ground leaving the 800m.
BARTOS – Raced wide without cover throughout.
Race 2:LUCY WALKER PHARMACY QTIS CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1000m
MYSTIC BROOK – Raced in restricted room and lost ground rounding the home turn.
DUREADY – Began awkwardly.
LITTLEBIT LONGTIME – Slow into stride.
EMMABROOKE – Slow to begin.
SHE’S LEAVEN – Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout the early n middle stages.
SALAZAR – Slow to begin.
Race 3:SCHOFIELD & CO MAIDEN PLATE – 1000m
ARCEAGLE – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the outside.
SISKIN – Tightened for and lost ground on jumping.
UNCLE JIM – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the inside.
ZOFFDACHARTS – Began awkwardly.
Race 4:HAYES SPRAYING BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1200m
BEAU IN CHAINS – Fractious in barrier. Slow into stride.
INVINCIBLE FAITH – Slow to begin.
No further racing incidents
Race 5:KENWAY & CLARK, BROWN & HURLEY GOONDIWINDI PICNIC CUP OPEN HANDICAP – 1200m
The start of the event was delayed when SILENT FLYER became fractious on route to the barriers, dislodging its rider and subsequently galloped a lap of the track. SILENT FLYER was declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 3:33pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invest in SILENT FLYER be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
2 cents in the dollar for the win - #7
8 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #7
8 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #8
9 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #2
Trainer N. King was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding.
No further racing incidents.
Race 6:DOYLE WILSON CLASS B HANDICAP – 1400m
BILL OF RIGHTS – Began awkwardly.
FLOWER – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the outside.
LUNAR LUSTRE – Bumped on jumping and lost ground.
AYLIFFE – Began awkwardly.
