Race 1: BRODIE & CO BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 800m

AMMATE – Slowly into stride after bumping with another runner on jumping. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed a minor injury to the gelding’s mouth.

BEAT MY DRAGON - Slowly into stride after bumping with another runner on jumping.

KOBY’S STRATEGY – Raced wide for the majority.

FLOSSY TOP - Raced wide for the majority.

Race 2: CUSTOM STEEL FAB – KEVIN MALONE MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1150m

CRAZY SUSPECT – Fractious in the barrier. Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.

WHITS END – Slowly into stride. Lost ground when racing ungenerously passing the 1000m due to resenting the kickback in running.

DOLLADREAM - Slowly into stride. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

RUM READY - Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

EXPOSED SECRET – Trainer Ms. T Parry, when questioned, advised that the filly had pleased the stable since its previous start, and had benefitted by beginning well today from the inside barrier, and having enough early pace to assume the lead and avoid any kickback in running.

Race 3: NIVERAK SMASH REPAIRS / GREGORY DOWNS STATION BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1150m

ARFA CROWN – Jockey J Hoopert, who was dually engaged in this event, was replaced by Jockey J Rudd as the rider of the gelding. Jockey Hoopert was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions AR127(1). Jockey J Rudd reported his saddle shifted to the near side passing the 1000m placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. Was disappointed when attempting a marginal run approaching the 100m, having to be restrained around the heels of a runner to its outside.

CLARION - Slowly into stride after bumping with another runner on jumping.

BOSS’S DAUGHTER - Slowly into stride after bumping with another runner on jumping.

BACCHUR – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

SERIOUSLY HAPPY - Raced wide for the majority.

MOODY MISS – Performed below market expectations. After beginning well and travelling kindly to the 700m commenced to lose ground before finishing tailed off. Jockey D Ballard could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Ms. D Ballard undertook to advise Stewards should anything which may have had a bearing on today’s performance become apparent in coming days.

Race 4: CLEMMENTS ELECTRICAL CLASS 6 PLATE 1150m

No racing incidents.

Race 5: BURKE SHIRE CUP / OUTBACK RACING SHOWCASE HEAT OPEN HANDICAP 1300m

SPANISH HURRICANE – As no other suitable rider was available Stewards permitted Jockey R McMahon to ride the gelding 2kg over its allotted weight. Slowly into stride. Raced wide for the majority.

SNIPPY STRATEGIC – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

HUTCHO - Bumped with another runner on jumping.

WARRUMBUNGLE – Slowly into stride after beginning awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.

LOUD ENOUGH – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

TRY ‘N’ RUN A MUCK - Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

Race 6: ALMORA STATION / DIAMOND HELICOPTERS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1500m

IMMUTABLE - As no other suitable rider was available Stewards permitted Jockey R McMahon to ride the gelding 3.5kg over its allotted weight. Raced wide for the majority.

MYOLA MILLY – Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority.

NOBODY BETTER – Jockey J Babarovich reported the mare raced ungenerously in the middle stages due to resenting the kickback in running before making up some ground over the concluding stages.
