Race 1: GET SOCIAL @IPSWICHTURFCLUB MAIDEN PLATE – 800M
 
Trainer S. Kendrick’s stable representative was advised that a fine of $100 would be imposed for the late declaration of apprentice J. Murphy as the rider of DISCIPLINE.
 
BOUNTY HUNTER – Hampered between runners on jumping.
 
ROCK TSAR – Tightened on jumping and lost considerable ground.
 
TEKKEN WARRIOR – Hampered between runners on jumping. The saddle shifted back slightly on entering the home straight, placing the rider at a disadvantage.
 
WATCHMEN – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
KEREMA MORI – Raced three wide without cover.
 
LADY CASUARINA – As the mare had not started for two years, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to race. Hampered between runners on jumping.
 
DISCIPLINE – Raced three wide with cover.
 
TYCOON TALE – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
Race 2: CARLTON MID QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1025M
 
CHILL THE BEER – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
CHAMPAGNE JET – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
HILLS – Slow to begin.
 
Race 3: SIRROMET CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1710M
 
Jockey B. Thornton was reminded of his responsibility under AR. 81F(3) to ensure he provides a medical clearance prior to his arrival on course when required.
 
As apprentice J. Guthmann-Chester failed to arrive on course on time to fulfil his engagement, J. Orman was substituted as the rider of CHAMPAGNE GARDEN. Stewards will interview apprentice Guthmann-
Chester regarding the circumstances of this matter at a later date.
 
LI’L RODGE – Overraced whilst in the lead.
 
CHASINGWAGTAILS – Slow into stride.
 
RED ZABELLA – Cast the off hind plate in running. Trainer H. Bown was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare for being uncompetitive.
 
Race 4: SCHWEPPES MAIDEN PLATE – 1350M
 
The start of this race was delayed slightly when HI ZERO proved difficult to load and when the blinkers on WE WANT IT ALL had to be refitted.
 
MEANER – Overraced passing the 1100m and had to be restrained from heels.
 
MIGHTY MOOSE – Laid in slightly passing the 1200m. Commenced to overrace when positioned outside the leader passing the 1100m.
 
MY BELLY BUTTON – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
HI ZERO – Proved difficult to load. Began awkwardly. Held up for the majority of the home straight.
 
SMOKIN’ HUSSAY – Laid in under pressure over the final 100m. Cast the near fore plate in running.
 
TAMARIN – Bumped heavily on jumping. Had to be steadied away from the heels of MIGHTY MOOSE passing the 1200m. Laid out after passing the 400m.
 
WE WANT IT ALL – Began awkwardly and made heavy contact with TAMARIN.
 
Race 5: RIVER 94.9FM CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1100M
 
LITTLE JOHN – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
ZOU DER ZEE – Hampered on jumping.
 
COMMANDATORE – C. Eaton was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip on a horse out of contention. Trainer T. Cotsiopoulos was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding for being uncompetitive.
 
PURE WHISPER – Began very awkwardly and lost considerable ground. P. Romeo was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip on a horse out of contention. Trainer S. Murdoch was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding for being uncompetitive.
 
Race 6: QUEENSLAND TIMES CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1025M
 
WALL STREET TYCOON – Had to be steadied away from heels passing the 700m.
 
MISS AMANDA – Jumped away awkwardly and lost some ground.
 
SOME COLLECT – Slow into stride.
 
Race 7: HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM ITC CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1350M
 
The start of this race was delayed initially when WINE BARREL had to be resaddled and then was further delayed when CHAVO proved difficult to load.
 
RAKHISH – L. Dittman reported that the gelding felt awkward in its action and therefore he did not pressure his mount over the final 100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
WINE BARREL – Raced three wide with cover from the 800m. Shifted four wide after passing the 600m to avoid the tiring KOZARSKA.
 
BOLD WARRIOR – Bumped on jumping.
 
ADORADIVA – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
LADY EIGHTY EIGHT – Slow to begin. Had some difficulty securing clear running over the final 100m and went to the line without  being fully tested.
 
MISHANI ROMAN – Hampered shortly after the start.
 
ENLIGHTENED – Reared slightly as the start was effected. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
KOZARSKA – Raced four wide in the early stages before pressing forward and obtaining a three-wide position passing the 800m, and remained racing three wide for the remainder of the event. Commenced to weaken after passing the 600m and finished a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
