Stewards accepted the reasons for jockey D Evans being overweight and he was subsequently replaced as the rider of ATTARD by N. Summers.

TRUMP ME – Slow to begin.

GISELLE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Near the 150m had to be eased when tightened for room between TRUMP ME and HIGHLY INFLUENTIAL, which shifted out slightly.

MURTAHOME – Overraced in the middle stages.

Race 3: XXXX GOLD QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1200M

BOLD ENCHANTMENT was declared a late scratching at 2:12 pm by order of stewards after it was revealed that the incorrect horse had been presented to race. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on BOLD ENCHANTMENT be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 2:12 pm:

11 cents in the dollar for the win #1
8 cents in the dollar for place of winner #1
18 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #4
7 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #3

At a subsequent inquiry stable representative Mr Clint Taylor pleaded guilty to a charge under AR227(a) in that his conduct in failing to confirm the identity of BOLD ENCHANTMENT, resulting in the incorrect horse being presented to race, could have led to a breach of AR99. Mr C. Taylor was fined the sum of $500.

The declaration of correct weight was delayed when A. Butler, who had been dislodged from HARD YAGA, returned to scale and weighed in correctly. Subsequent to this, jockey Butler was stood down from his remaining engagements and was replaced as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Jockey Butler was advised that he would require a medical clearance prior to resuming riding.

HARD YAGA – Bumped at the start.

DIAMOND ACCOUNT – Hampered at the start. Raced wide without cover throughout the event.

HAZAR – Shifted out abruptly at the start, bumping another runner.

STARS DON’T RUST – Began awkwardly and made contact with HARD YAGA.

CRAIGLEA TREACLE – Inconvenienced at the start.

LITTLE MISS SUNDAY – Bumped heavily at the start by HAZAR, which shifted out abruptly.

SARANOVA – Had to be steadied near the 1100m when tightened for room between OUR GIRL FIFI and HARD YAGA, both of which shifted ground. A short distance later had to be checked away from the heels of HARD YAGA, which had commenced to overrace and shifted in and away from LITTLE MISS SUNDAY. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly had bled from both nostrils. As this was the first occasion on which SARANOVA had bled, trainer S. Sigvart was advised that the filly would be ineligible to race for 3 months and prior to starting again would be required to gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward. Mr Sigvart indicated that he would now consider retiring the filly from racing.

Stanley, the rider of ATTIQUE, was issued with a reprimand and advised to show greater care when his mounts shift ground. Held up momentarily  approaching the 400m.

ATTIQUE – Jockey J. Stanley reported at scale that as he had concerns with the filly’s action he desisted from pressuring his mount in the home straight and over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off hind leg consistent with being galloped on.

BRING ME LUCK – Held up in the early stages of the home straight and was obliged to shift out to obtain clear running.

MAGITORIAL – Raced wide throughout the event.

Race 5: 2019 XXXX GOLD WINTER RACING CARNIVAL BENCHMARK 69 HANDICAP – 1050M

He added that the mare would take a fitness benefit from today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
