Race 1: XXXX Gold Winter Racing Carnival QTIS Two-Years-Old Handicap 1200m
CRAIGLEA ALTONA – Overraced in the early stages.
TALES OF EPSILON – Bumped by MALVAGIO on jumping. Laid inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.
MALVAGIO – Began awkwardly, then bumped by MASTER JAMIE, became unbalanced and bumped TALES OF EPSILON.
MASTER JAMIE – Jumped outwards at the start and bumped MALVAGIO. Overraced in the early stages.
Race 2: Girls Grammar Rockhampton Raceday – Saturday 15 June BenchMark 65 Handicap 1828m
PERSISTENT SHADOW – Slow to begin.
ROCKSETTA – Lost its footing behind on jumping, resulting in the gelding being slow into stride.
RUFFY ROAD – Overraced in the early stages and eased near the 200 metres between PERFECTLY ALIGNED and PLAIN ‘N’ SIMPLE, both of which shifted ground slightly.
JETINTOIT – Raced wide without cover throughout.
EMILY’S SONG – When asked if he could offer any explanation for the mare’s performance, apprentice T. Doyle stated that his mount failed to begin as well as it normally does, then travelled keenly in the early and middle stages, however failed to respond to his riding in the home straight and was disappointing over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 3: Ramsay Pharmacy Rockhampton Luncheon - $55 Saturday 15 June BenchMark 69 Handicap 1400m
SWINGAHINCH – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout without cover. Rider reported that his mount laid inwards throughout the race.
SCRABBLE – Slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly. Shortly after the start the crossover noseband became loose and was then flapping around in the vicinity of the gelding’s head throughout the race.
FLAT TO STACK – Rider L. Tilley reported that his mount settled back further than anticipated after being slow to begin. He added that the gelding never travelled well and was disappointing over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
DAUNTING QUEEN – Held up for clear running from the 400 metres until after passing the 300m. Apprentice T. Doyle was reprimanded for attempting a run near the 250 metres where there was insufficient room between DOOGUS and ART NOUVEAU, which resulted in ART NOUVEAU being bumped on two occasions and becoming unbalanced.
ART NOUVEAU – Bumped on two occasions near the 250 metres, resulting in the horse becoming unbalanced. Subsequent to the race the veterinary surgeon reported the gelding had sustained a laceration to its near fore heel.
Race 4: TAB Rockhampton Calcutta – Thursday 4 July Class 3 Plate 1300m
RIO ROSIE – Prior to the race trainer G. Green advised that if circumstances permit the jockey would be instructed to ride the mare off the pace in an effort for her to run on over the concluding stages. Settled in a midfield position.
HUTCHO – On arrival at the barriers was examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
POETIC SHOW – Proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages. Raced wide from the 900 metres.
RIO ROSIE – Began awkwardly and bumped the hind quarters of TOM’S STAR at the start.
WEAR THE FOX HAT – Slow to begin.
WICKED QUEEN – Raced wide without cover throughout.
TOM’S STAR – Bumped on jumping.
Race 5: Book Your Event Over Winter Carnival Now! Maiden Plate 1300m
MONSIEUR JACK – Jumped outwards at the start and bumped PIANO MAN. Shortly after had to be eased off the heels of PIANO MAN. Raced wide throughout. Hung out for the majority of the straight.
HEYGERONIMO – Slow to begin.
CHILD SUPPORT – Raced wide throughout.
PAIBLE – Raced wide throughout without cover.
BRANDS HATCH – When asked for an explanation regarding the gelding’s performance, Jockey M. McGillivray stated that after being marginally slow to begin, his mount travelled well in a forward position, however when placed under pressure near the 450 metres failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities.
STRAWBERRY BLONDE – Jockey R. Wiggins was fined $300 for weighing in overweight.

HIDDEN THUNDER – Lost ground at the start after beginning awkwardly.
WARNERS LANDING – Raced wide throughout.
Race 7: In Memory – Mr Brian Fitzgerald Open Handicap 1100m
FRENCH HUSSLER – Began awkwardly. Rider reported that the gelding resented the tongue-tie.
JUST CALL ME LOUIE – Raced keenly in the early stages.
AVONACO – Raced wide throughout.
Race 8: Rockhampton Grammar School – 1881 Endowment Fund QTIS Three-Years-Old Handicap 1300m
CHANAMARO – Jumped awkwardly inwards at the start and bumped MYWIFESAIDNO, which in turn made heavy contact with SCOTTISH LAD, which then bumped TADWEEN.
MISS FLAWLESS – Blundered on jumping.
SCOTTISH LAD – Bumped on jumping.
TADWEEN – Became unbalanced after being bumped at the start.
HAZAR – Raced wide throughout.
LADY BEC – Raced wide throughout.
MYWIFESAIDNO – Bumped at the start and then made heavy contact with SCOTTISHLAD.
