Race 1 - EZYQUIP QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD AND THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE – 1200m
SUCCINITE- Began awkwardly and lost considerable ground. Raced wide during the middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
TWOGOBOOM- Slipped behind on jumping.
STAR SINGER- Slow to begin. Improved onto the heels of runners rounding the home turn and was forced to shift to the outside to secure clear running.
WE CALL HE LOLA- Slow to begin.
TERRAJA- Raced wide in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward to the leading position near the 800m.
HE’Z TITILLATING- Raced wide during the early and middle stages.
Race 2 - MOUNTS MACHINERY/BROWN & HURLEY OPEN HANDICAP – 1200m
Oggie – As the gelding was having its first start in approximately twelve months, it was examined by the veterinary surgeon prior to the event and was subsequently passed fit to start.
NICCO’S LASS- Began awkwardly.
OGGIE- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
TYCOON ZIP- Bumped and forced wider on jumping.
REVERSE LOGIC- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
FAB’S COWBOY- Raced wide without cover for the majority.
DE VILLIERS- Raced wide throughout.
Race 3 - MPC KINETIC CLASS 4 PLATE – 1000m
MARGOT- Began awkwardly and lost ground.
CORNFORTH- Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout.
EXCEED ALL ODDS- Slow to begin and lost considerable ground.
ARUBA- Slow to begin.
Race 4 - ROMA BOBCAT HIRE BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP - 1640m
GOLD CROWN- Stood flat-footed and lost ground.
IMMUTABLE- Blundered on jumping, shifted out bumping another runner.
SUPER KEAN- Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced. Raced wide during the early stages before being ridden forward to obtain the leading position passing the 1100m.
PART THE SEA- Raced wide throughout.
ROCKSETTA- Tightened for room near the 1200m and became unbalanced. Made the home turn very wide.
MR OPURRTUNIST- App. J Morrow was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out to the conclusion of the event.
PAT’S GIRL- Made the home turn very wide.
Race 5 - TAB RACE TO ROMA - FINAL - OPEN HANDICAP – 1640m
ESCHIELE- Slow to begin. Steadied to avoid heels rounding the home turn.
POTEMKIN- Bumped heavily rounding the home turn when OH WHY shifted out after being struck with the whip. App. S Wilcock was reprimanded as a result of this incident.
DAWN FIGHTER- Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the winning post on the first occasion.
ARCTIC CIRCLE- Trainer B Waldron advised that following the poor performance of the mare will be sent for an immediate spell. A post race Veterinary inspection revealed no significant abnormalities.
Race 6 - AGL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1200m
AKLAVIK – Declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 8:25am due to no rider being available.
RULER’S PRIDE- Slow to begin.
SPRING ACTION- Slow to begin.
SMOOTH HUSTLER- App. S Wilcock was reprimanded for making a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post.
