J. Taylor reported at scale that his mount anticipated the start and then blundered badly. He then placed his mount under pressure, however he had some concerns that the gelding may have sustained an injury and therefore he was reluctant to place his mount under further pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a laceration to the off hind cannon.
