Bled from both nostrils. Connections were advised that the horse would be ineligible to start for 3 months and prior to resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
Held up for clear running over the concluding stages.
Connections advised that the horse would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.
Shifted wider at the 800m and raced wide for the remainder of the event. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey R. Plumb stated that his instructions were to obtain a forward position, however, he was unable to do so as the gelding failed to show sufficient speed. He added that at a point near the 800m he elected to shift wider to improve, however, his mount was under pressure and failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. He further added that in his opinion the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no signif
