SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS
Stewards opened an inquiry into the reason trainer D Brennan (BLANKET SHOW) was presented to race at the Cairns Race meeting on Saturday the 8th December 2007 without obtaining a Veterinarian Certificate as directed by Stewards at the Cairns Meeting on the 26th October 2007. After hearing evidence Stewards charged trainer D Brennan with a breach of ARR 175(p) and was subsequently fined $100.
Stewards opened an inquiry into the reason trainer G Duncan (MOTORMOUTH) failed to scratch from the Cairns meeting on the 8th December 2007. Stewards charged trainer G Duncan with a breach of ARR 114 (c) and was subsequently fined $150
RACE 1: ROOSTERS FOOTBALL CLUB MAIDEN PLATE 1100M
1st: Brer Fox 2nd: Korolev 3rd: Razydance 4th: Cat Ballou
STYLISH EFFECT (P Edwards) was a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 12.30pm when the filly pulled away from barrier staff on two occasions and refused to load. Stewards ordered all bets on STYLISH EFFECT to be refunded and deductions were made 7cents and 8cents ($13). Connections were advised the filly must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next start.

.RACE 2: BARRON VALEY HOTEL CLASS B HANDICAP - 1400M.
1st: Robin The Hood 2nd: Top D’World 3rd: Admiral Rogers 4th: Bozo Lad
Jockey K Rockett (ROBIN THE HOOD) was granted permission to ride 2.5kgs overweight when no other suitable rider was available.
Jockey T Weeks (AITCH TO OH) was granted permission to ride 2kgs overweight as no other suitable rider was available. All outlets were notified immediately.
TOP D’ WORLD (D Crossland) was unruly on the way to the start causing a minor delay. Connections were advised a warning was placed on the gelding for its behaviour.
BOLD BARASSI (P Edwards) was slow away.
TOP D’WORLD was then held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
MALS BOY (G Clegg) raced greenly in the straight.
Jockey C Eaton (DOWN THE BARREL) was cautioned when her mount shifted out abruptly near the 300m hampering MALS BOY.
RACE 3: AUSTRALIAN LIQUOR MARKETERS CLASS 6 PLATE – 1200M.
1st: Gaelic Lad 2nd: Bazzooka 3rd: Scorpio Star 4th: Carry On Ace
TINYBOW (C Eaton) jumped awkwardly.
On returning to scale GOLDEN CARD (T Weeks) underwent a veterinary examination as the rider felt the gelding may have been sore, found no abnormalities
GAELIC LAD (D Crossland) bled from both nostrils following the event. Connections were advised of the 3 months ban.
RACE 4: ANNICK CESARO MEMORIAL CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000M
1st: Silent Madonna 2nd: Dunwoodys 3rd: Billy Be Quick 4th :Gaylord
ZERO TO HERO (R Ryan) was slow away
DUNWOODYS (D Crossland) was slow away.
Jockey D Crossland (DUNWOODYS) was reprimanded when his permitted his mount to shift out near the 200m causing ZERO TO HERO to be steadied.
RACE 5: BOTTLE-O LIQUOR GROUP HANDICAP (P2 HCP + 1.5KGS) 1000M.

CRAFTY’S BROTHER (C Eaton) was inclined to lay in shortly after the start.
