Race 1: GEORGE BOURNE & ASSOCIATES MAIDEN PLATE 1000m:
1ST-- CICERAO MOUNTAIN 2nd – POHAKU 3rd – GO GUS GO 4th-- PIPPA’S CALL
CICERAO MOUNTAIN (R. Hancock) jumped away awkwardly.
KING KARENA (C. Dixon) jumped inwards.
POHAKU (B. Newport) was hampered when the barrier gate sprung back and caused the horse to jump inwards and was the overcorrected by jockey Newport.
TYCOON MADAME (S. Galvin) and PIPPA’S CALL (D. Rewald) travelled wide for the majority of the event.
Race 2: D.GRAY GRADER & LOADER HIRE OPEN HANCICAP 1000m:
1ST -- STREETSON 2nd – SECRETS 3rd – MONTANUS 4TH -- HEZA FLASHMAN
WELL SATISFIED and CRAIGLEA FIGHTER were both scratched.
HEZA FLASHMAN (D. Rewald) travelled wide for the majority of the event.
MONTANUS (R. Hancock) travelled wide from the home turn.
SECRETS (C. Dixon) hung out traveling down the home straight and had to be corrected on several occasions.
Race 3: COOLA CARPETS CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1) 1100m:
1st –SEAGAL 2nd – KUYA 3RD – FOXI ELI 4th – OLD RAWHIDE
KUYA (S. Egan) jumped inwards hindering SEAGAL (C. Dixon) at the start slightly.
SEAGAL (C. Dixon) was slow away.
SHIPIN (S. Galvin) was a little bit awkward a few strides after the start and had to be corrected.
IN THE MULGA (B. Newport) showed no early speed and travelled wide from the 600m.
KUYA (S. Egan) lay in under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.
Race 4: GARY & MANDY PEOPLES BOOKMAKER CLASS 1 HANDICAP (2) 1100m:
1st – GOLD AGENT 2nd – MERIBEL MAGIC 3RD -- VENNOM 4th – LORDLY
VENNOM (B. Newport) jumped away awkwardly causing the gelding to lose ground.
MERIBEL MAGIC (D. Rewald) gates were slow to open.
VENNOM travelled wide for the majority of the event.
GOLD AGENT (C. Dixon) travelled wide from the 400m.
Race 5: UNION HOTEL CLASS 6 PLATE 1200m:
1ST -GUNS 2ND - SURROUNDED BY SIN 3RD - SWAGS 4TH -SUPERWIT
FINE DINA (C. Kearney) was fractious and become cast in the barrier and was a late scratching at 3:55pm on veterinary advice.
The following deductions were announced with correct weight, four cents in the face value of the dollar for the win bet and six cents in the face value of the dollar for place bets. Trainer R. Simpson was advised that the gelding would have to undergo a barrier trial to steward’s satisfaction before the gelding could start again.
SWAGS (R. Hancock) traveled wide in the middle stages of the event.
SUPER WIT (B. Newport) traveled wide from the 600m.
GUNS (S. Egan) traveled wide from the 400m.
Race 6: O’DONNELL’S 4 SQUARE BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1600m:
1ST - TATYOON 2ND - BELLESPY 3RD - STRUCKBYLIGHTNING 4TH - STARBURST
STARBURST (D. Rewald) was slow away.
MISS CHANCEXAAR (C. Kearney) was slow into stride and traveled wide from the home turn.
TATYOON (S. Egan) traveled wide from the 600m.
BELLESPY (R. Hancock) traveled wide from the home turn.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
