Race 1: UNION HOTEL CLASS B HANDICAP 1000m:
1ST-- DANA DANCER 2nd -- BIG BERT 3rd – TOO MANY LIES 4th-- CRYSTAL MATES
TOO MANY LIES (R. Mules) jumped inwards.
ZIONIC (D. Rewald) jumped awkwardly and raced ungenerously throughout.
BIG BERT (S. Egan) was fractious in the barriers before jumping then traveled wide in the early stages of the event.
AIRGEAD (J. King) traveled wide in the middle stages of the event.
DANA DANCER (R. Faehr) traveled wide from the 600m.
Race 2: G & D BALLARD INVESTMENTS PTY LYD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100m:
1ST -- SIR IGER 2nd – TOP PAL 3rd – FAITHFUL EYE 4TH -- OCTELLO
FAITHFUL EYE (S. Egan) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride then proceeded to hang out until straighten near the 400 metres. FAITHFUL EYE raced wide throughout.
CRAIGLEA JAGUAR (R. Faehr) knuckled at the start and continued to race ungenerously throughout.
SIR IGER (R. Hancock) hung out rounding the home turn, and shifted FAITHFUL EYE wider on the track. Jockey Hancock was spoken to regarding keeping his horse from shifting ground in similar circumstances.
ROSELEA OSCAR (G.Steele) traveled wide for the majority of the event.
Race 3: BARCALDINE WELDING WORKS BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1100m:
1st –LUCASAM 2nd – PIGTAILS 3RD – VAIN DAZZLER 4th – REIGNING TO WIN
PIGTAILS (S. Egan) knuckled at the start.
BELLESPY (R.Hancock) traveled wide throughout the majority of the event.
Race 4: IRON BARK INN MOTEL & RESTAURANT CLASS 3 PLATE 1300m:
1st –TATYOON 2nd – ELECTRONIC BEE 3RD – BENLEIGH 4th – NAVAJOS
FLIGHHT COMMAND (J. King) blundered badly at the start.
NAVAJOS (G. Steele) and DARLINGTON COUNTY (R. Mules) lay on each other for the first 100m of the event
TATYOON (R. Faehr) was slow into stride and traveled wide throughout.
DARLINGTON COUNTRY (R. Mules) over raced in the early stages of the event and didn’t seem to handle the dusty track conditions.
CRAIGLEA RAWIE (D. Rewald) traveled wide in the middle and late stages of the event.
NAVAJOS (G. Steele) lay in approaching the 180m tightening BENLEIGH (S. Egan) and ELECTRONIC BEE (R. Hancock). The trainer of NAVAJOS, H. Forster stated they would try winkers on the gelding to try and stop him laying in. Stewards noted this.
RULING HEART (D. Brown) was given a reprimand concerning the excessive use of his whip on mount and reminded of his obligation regarding this rule
Race 5: THE AUSTRALIAN WORKERS’ UNION TREE OF KNOWLEDGE CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1600m:
1ST - ISSUES 2ND - DUAL ECHELON 3RD - EQUITANT 4TH - FOREVER MORE
CRAIGLEA PURSUIT (D Rewald) was slow into stride.
BOOTOOLOO (D. Brown) over raced in the early and middle stages of the event.
DUAL ECHELON (G. Steele) traveled wide for the majority of the event.
EQUITANT (R. Faehr) traveled wide from the 600m.
DAAD’S OVERTIME (S. Egan) shifted out under pressure approaching the 200m and crossed the heels of CRAIGLEA PURSUIT(D. Rewald).
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
