Race 1: Railway Hotel Class 1 Handicap - 1000 metres
1st – KING KARENA 2nd – RHYTHM NATION 3rd – RAVEN RAIDER 4th- AMICI’S HOPE

CLEAR (S. Galvin) was hampered when the barrier gate sprung back.

GENTLE GOODNIGHT (App S Egan) was slow to begin.

MAGARI’S DREAM (D. Brown) jumped outwards.

Near the 800 metres, OUR STROMBERG (W. Doyle) was eased when RAVEN RAIDER (R. Faehr) and RHYTHM NATION (D. Rewald) both shifted ground marginally.

KING KARENA (App M McGillvray) and MAGARI’S DREAM both raced wide throughout.

Over the concluding stages, KING KARENA shifted out under pressure.

Jockey R Faehr was reprimanded for use of his whip in excess of the 5 times in a forehand manner prior to the 100 metres.

Jockey S Galvin reported that CLEAR had shown no early speed and resented the sand kickback. He was also of the opinion that the gelding would be better suited over further distance. Trainer R Little reported that the gelding had lost a front concussion plate.

Race 2: Kiama Pastoral BM 75 Handicap - 1000 metres
1st – LIGER 2nd – WIGPOOL 3rd – STRATEGIC WEAPON 4th – CASTAWAY


The explanation provided by Trainer T Austin as to the late declaration of rider for LIGER was accepted.

The start was delayed when CASTAWAY proved extremely difficult to load. Trainer B Johnson was advised the gelding would be required to pass 2 barrier jump-outs prior to its next race start in the presence of Stewards prior to its next race start.

CASTAWAY (W. Doyle) jumped out and took MOSSETARSI (R. Kerwin) out onto THREE MONKEYS (R. Mules).

PRINCE FIREBALL (App G Steele) began extremely awkwardly, jumped in the air and lost ground.

CRAIGLEA FIGHTER (D. Rewald) raced wide throughout.

Apprentice G Steele was shown the patrol film regarding her use of the whip on PRINCE FIREBALL. App. Steele was advised to allow her horse to respond to any use of the whip and what may be considered excessive use of the whip.

Jockey W Doyle was fined $50 for failing to weigh in 4th on CASTAWAY.

Race 3: Rooney’s Rural Contractors Maiden Plate - 1100 metres
1st – RENTRICE 2nd –SNIPPETSFILLY 3rd –DABEVA 4th – SPITFIRE DRAGON

RENTRICE (R Kirwan) was tightened at the start between CABAWIN (R. Mules) and SNIPPETSFILLY (R. Faehr) when both runners shifted ground.

SNIPPETSFILLY continued to shift out and CABAWIN become awkwardly placed on its heel, was steadied and lost ground.

Approaching the 800 metres, SPITFIRE DRAGON (App H Park) became awkward and made contact with the running rail. DEEKAYEL (App S Alam), which was following, was steadied from its heels.

Near the 800 metres, TITLED LADY (App G Steele) commenced to hang out and took GOT THE RHYTHM (D. Rewald) wide on the track. Trainer C Prow was advised that the filly would be required to pass a jump-out over 800 metres or more prior to its next start.


Race 4: George Bourne & Associates BM 65 Handicap- 1100 metres
1st – DANA DANCER 2nd – FOUR JOY 3rd – LUCKY US 4th – RATTLE CREEK

KOMODO (S. Galvin) blundered and was further hampered when TOO MANY LIES (App M McGillivray) jumped inwards.

Shortly after the start, DANA DANCER (R. Faehr) was marginally tightened between LUCKY US (App S Egan) and SECRETS REVEALED (W. Doyle).

SNIP ESPRIT (D. Brown) began awkwardly and jumped in away from the outside barrier gate which sprung back.
Near the 1000 metres, CRYSTAL MATES (App H Park) shifted in slightly and when SNIP ESPRIT shifted in away from that runner caused LUCKY US to be restrained and shifted wider on the track. LUCKY US raced wide for the remainder of the race.

At the 900 metres, SECRETS REVEALED was eased when DANA DANCER rolled in.

Following this race, Apprentice S Egan was unable to fulfil his commitments due to an injury to his right knee. App Egan was advised that he would require a medical certificate prior to his next riding engagements.

Race 5: D. Grays Grader & Loader Hire Class 4 Handicap- 1300 metres
1st – MONTREUX JAZZ 2nd – TENMOREGRAND 3rd –TATYOON 4th – STARDUST WARRIOR

BOSE (App S Alam) began awkwardly and raced wide throughout.

TIS AWESOME (R Kerwin) raced wide throughout.

Race 6: TNT Racing Stables Class B Handicap- 1300 metres
1st – DOMINANT PLAY 2nd – MISS NOVELTY 3rd – KEV’S DESTINY 4th – LEICAZUPA

Due to no available riders, HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS and MANFRED THE MAN were declared late scratchings at 3.20pm.

CARDS ‘N’ OWLS (R Kerwin) began awkwardly and then shifted inside the line of the running rail and lost ground.

DOMINANT PLAY (R. Faehr) began awkwardly and made contact with DEVIOUS MAN (App S Alam).

ETERNO (App M McGillivray) began awkwardly and appeared to lose its footing.

VANGUARD (R. Mules) began awkwardly.

Approaching the 800 metres, DEVIOUS MAN made contact with the running rail and lost ground.

SPOTTED EAGLE (App H Park) raced wide in the early stages.
VANGUARD raced wide throughout.

Race 7: Greg Horn Memorial Open Handicap- 1300 metres
1st – GESINK 2nd – LUCASAM 3rd – SECRETS 4th – REGAL PRINCE

CRAIGLEA RAWIE (App S Alam) and SECRETS (App M McGillivray) raced wide throughout.
