FLIGHT COMMAND (M. Cox) blundered on jumping away.

Near the 1000m, CURRAWEE LASS (B. Powell) had to be steadied when tightened for room by GORILLA'S MIST (D. Gill), which shifted in slightly.

GORILLA'S MIST and FLIGHT COMMAND brushed on several occasions near the 150m.

D. McWhinney, the rider of HARRISVILLE TOFF, reported that the gelding was forced to race on the inside section of track today, which in his opinion was heavier, and may have finished closer if he was able to obtain a run to the outside of the track.

I. Coombes, the rider of TALEOFTHECENTURY, reported that the mare travelled well in the early stages, however when placed under pressure prior to the home turn, the mare failed to stretch out, and in his opinion proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination of TALEOFTHECENTURY did not reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer W. Melvin undertook to report to stewards any condition that arises in the following days that may have affected the mare's performance today.

Race 3: Tony Madden Architects Class B Handicap 850m

1st – Craiglea Masta 2nd- Tellkane 3rd- Bjorn 4th – Apache Gulf

Correct Weight was delay to allow L. Appo, the rider of APACHE GULF, to view the race patrol footage to determine if the gelding had been afforded a fair start. After viewing the footage, it was established that APACHE GULF had lowered it's head on it's own accord just prior to the start being effected, and was therefore deemed to be afforded a fair start.

APACHE GULF (L. Appo) was slow to begin.

CRAIGLEA MASTA (S. Bayliss) and LADY RUTHERFORD (D. Gill) made contact on jumping away.

BJORN (I. Coombes) hung out rounding the home turn, and near the 200m, again hung out under pressure.

D. Gill, the rider of LADY RUTHERFORD, reported the mare did not appreciate racing in amongst other runners today, and performs best when able to lead in it's races.

Race 4: Wide Bay IT QTIS Two-Years-Old Maiden Handicap 850m

MISS BULL (L. Dillon), RED ACCALIA (T. Ticknell) and SOVEREIGN BELLE (I. Coombes) were all slow to begin.

WILLIE'S CLOUDS (C. Kearney) shifted in at the start and made heavy contact with WILD MAX (S. Bayliss), resulting in that runner losing ground.

TEN TO LIFE (D. Gill) shifted out under pressure near the 200m resulting in it's rider having to stop riding and straighten her mount.

MISS BULL raced wide throughout the event.

I. Coombes, the rider of SOVEREIGN BELLE, reported the filly did not appreciate the kick back from today's racing surface.

C. Kearney reported that WILLIE'S CLOUDS was inclined to race greenly in the early stages of the event.

Stewards questioned S. Bayliss regarding the seemingly poor performance of WILD MAX. S. Bayliss stated that the gelding never travelled comfortably at any stage during the race today. A post race veterinary examination of WILD MAX did not reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer M. Hassam advised that the gelding would now be sent for an immediate spell.

D. Gill, the rider of UNIQUE FUSE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that shortly after the start she allowed her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of DON'T YOU WORRY and PRIVATE CHAT, resulting both those runners having to be checked by their riders. D. Gill's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period covered by 6 meetings, to commence midnight 23 March until midnight 3 April 2013.
