Race 1: KIDMAN (SANDRINGHAM & GLENGYLE) PAST PRESIDENTS 4 SYND/WESFARMER MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M.
1st – CASINO CHIC 2nd – SORROWFUL 3rd – RAZOO 4th – PIRATE O’MALLEY

GUN BIRD (R Bellert) began awkwardly and was then obliged to race wide for the majority of the race.

SMART SISTER (M Tarrant) after improving onto the heels of RAZOO (App C Gilby) near the 300m had to be checked.

WALLABY BOB (M Cullen) was unable to muster any early speed and was tailed off.

R Bellert, when questioned into the seemingly disappointing performance of GUN BIRD stated that after beginning awkwardly the mare failed to show any pace and in his opinion may not have backed up from its previous run. Stewards noted his explanation.




Race 2: KAMARAN DOWNS/BLACK TRUCK SALES/ G & J LEWINGTON OPEN H’CAP – 1000M.
1st – SAMURAI SPIRIT 2nd – LUSTEGIC 3rd – EMU WALK 4th – RAW SEQUEL

KEEP ME IN MIND (App C Gilby) was slow to begin.

LUSTEGIC (B Calkin) which proved difficult to load reared as the start was effected losing ground.

Race 3: TOBY & GEM HARRIS/BALDWIN FILTERS QTIS CLASS B H’CAP – 1000M.
1st – SON OF WAR 2nd – SMYLA 3rd – EXPRESS ROMEO 4th – RAIATEA

SKY CHANNON (R Bellert) was slow to begin.

RAIATEA (B Calkin) began awkwardly.

SON OF WAR (B Macdonald) raced wide for the majority of the race.

SALTY BAY (K Ballard) raced wide throughout the event.

Race 4: CLUNY STATION/GEORGE BOURNE & ASSOC BEDOURIE CUP OPEN H’CAP – 1600M.
1st – HILL BILLY HEAVEN 2nd – DANCE FOR ALL 3rd – BARTOLO 4th – COVER OF DARKNESS

Apprentice T Hall, the rider of SUSSEX, was fined the sum of $50.00 under AR92 (12) for failing to claim down to her declared riding weight.

No racing incidents.

Race 5: MCINNES WILSON/IOR ENERGY BRACELET CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1000M.
1st – SUNBURNT SANTA 2nd – RACER’S RETURN 3rd – IRISH FIXER 4th – CRAIGLEA BABA

SUNBURNT SANTA (B Calkin) was fractious in the barriers prior to the start.

HIGHLY ELATED (App T Hall) which was slow to begin then raced wide throughout the race.

G Schrader, the trainer of SUNBURNT SANTA, when questioned into the improved performance of that runner stated that while he had been surprised with the horse’s performance today, he could offer no excuse other that he had lightened off the geldings work since its last start which may have been to the horse’s benefit. Steward’s noted his explanation.







Race 6: BEDOURIE HOTEL/CAVA HYDRAULICS/MAS MECHANICAL CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1300M.
1st – FOLLOW THE LEADER 2nd – STRONG SUIT 3rd – EQUITANT 4th – CHOIMAR

Apprentice T Hall, the rider of FOLLOW THE LEADER, was fined the sum of $50.00 under AR92 (12) for failing to claim down to her declared riding weight. Apprentice Hall was further advised she must make a greater effort to ride at her declared riding weight and be consistent in this matter.

EQUITANT (App C Gilby) jumped in at the start making heavy contact with GOLDEN DRAKE (B Calkin) which lost ground when taken in onto MR FRISCO (App G Davis) which lost considerable ground when further tightened for room by CHOIMAR (M Tarrant) which jumped out.
