BEAUDESERT RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT FRI.15.6.01

STEWARDS PANEL: Mr R. Sanders (Chairman); Mr C. McLune; Mr D. Aurisch; Mr G. Hargraves; Mr J. Williamson (Cadet).

WEATHER - FINE TRACK - GOOD

GENERAL: Stewards today conducted an inquiry into the analyst's report on the urine sample provided by licensed trackwork rider Trevor Clarke at the Beaudesert track on 1 May 2001 after fulfilling trackwork duties. T. Clarge pleaded guilty to a breach of AR81(A) in that he provided a sample after riding trackwork which was found to contain cannabis. T. Clarke's privilege to ride trackwork was suspended for a period of 3 months, effective from 20 May 2001, on which day he stopped riding trackwork, up to and including 1 August 2001.

As A. Morrison was indisposed, the following riding substitutions were permitted: Race 2. LALIDRAMBA - A. Merritt; Race 3. SAHARA AMBER - M. Rodd; Race 5. SAHARA ZOFF - D. Griffin; Race 6. CHARSKI - M. Rodd;

RACE 1: DOVER & SONS H'CAP - 1650M.

Trainer S. Kumpikas was fined $50 for failing to declare riders of EPSON HAIGE and DANEHILL QUEEN (Race 3) by the required time.

Near the 1000m., EPSON HAIGE had to be checked to avoid the heels of SILVANUS, which was racing ungenerously to the inside of ASSERTER, which shifted in slightly. After considering all the evidence, stewards took no direct action, however advised all riders to exercise care in similar circumstances.

ASSERTER, which shifted out to improve soon after straightening, made heavy contact with EPSOM, which shifted in at the same stage.

COUNT CAPRICE was inclined to hang out throughout the race.

Over the concluding stages, ASSERTER and EPSOM HAIGE brushed on a number of occasions.

Following this event, D. Craven was examined by the club's ambulance officer and stood down from his remaining engagements. D. Griffin was substituted as the rider of REGAL GLARE (Race 2) and LOREMASTER (Race 8), S. Galloway as the rider of IMPOSITION (Race 4) and BROTHER BORRELLI (Race 5).


RACE 2: SHINKO FOREST H'CAP - 1300M.

Trainer K. Pattillo was fined $50 for failing to declare a rider for CLEMENTINA by the required time.

REGAL GLARE and LALIDRAMBA made contact on jumping away.

BUSH DUCHESS shifted in at the start, momentarily hampering GO CREOLE.

Near the 900m., REGAL GLARE hung out, inconveniencing BIG KASEY.

REGAL GLARE was inclined to hang out from the 600m., and near the 400m. shifted out and made contact with BIG KASEY.

M. Rodd, rider of CLEMINTINA, was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts right out to the finish line.


RACE 3: A & T VET PTY LTD SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP - 1300M.

As S. Galloway failed to arrive on course in time to fulfil his engagement on RAWING TRADE, A. Baker was substituted as the rider of that filly. S. Galloway's explanation was accepted.

SENJ was slow to begin.

A. Gillett, rider of MR. MONEYMAKER, accidentally dropped his whip at the 100m..


RACE 4: KBENJAR H'CAP - 1100M.

COUNT MELANDRI jumped away awkwardly.


RACE 5: HOHL PLUMBING H'CAP - 1100M.

As S. Katsidis was to be overweight, A. Baker was substituted as the rider of GREAT SMILE.

GREAT SMILE was slow to begin.

RULING RUMOR and BALLERINA BABE came together on jumping away.

Shortly after the start, BROTHER BORRELI was momentarily inconvenienced between SAHARA ZOFF and NOBLE JACKPOT, which shifted out.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of RAW ACTION, R. Pittman stated he could offer no explanation other than the colt was inclined to hang out for the majority of the event. A veterinary examination of RAW ACTION revealed the colt was sore in the near shoulder. Trainer W. Winters was advised that he would be required to provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for RAW ACTION prior to its next race start.








RACE 6: PRIMAC ELDERS H'CAP - 1100M.

Trainer M. Brosnan was fined $50 for failing to declare a rider for ALWAYS GOLD by the required time.

PYLADES was hampered on jumping away between PARIS SILK and TELCAPRI, which jumped outwards.

SECRET HEART and JUST JUICE made contact on jumping away.


RACE 7: GLENLOGAN PARK BEAUDESERT CUP - 1400M.

KAORU QUEEN and BEACON made contact on jumping away.

BEACON, which suffered a bleeding attack during the event, will be barred from racing for a period of 3 months.


RACE 8: AMERICAN ODYSSEY - COUNTRY & HORSE FESTIVAL CUP - 1300M.

As S. Katsidis was to be overweight, A. Gillette was substituted as the rider of FLAMING GOD. S. Katsidis was fined $200.

Near the 800m., ADJUSTED broke down in the near foreleg, dislodging its rider P. Spry. ADJUSTED was euthanased on humane grounds.

In the middle stages, TIMELY MAGIC was inclined to overrace.

RAW TORQUE was held up for clear running over the concluding stages.


ALL WINNERS, RAW ACTION AND BEACON WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
