BEAUDESERT RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT FRI. 21.3.03

STEWARDS PANEL: Mr R. Sanders(Chairman), Mr A. Reardon, Mr D. Hensler, Mr C. Waller (Cadet).

WEATHER - FINE TRACK - GOOD


RACE 1: MARK ROWE/MATT AITKEN H'CAP - 1400M.

FOULARD and FAIR MONARCH were slow to begin.

BREAKER'S WELLS raced ungenerously throughout the race.

Near the 500m., JIKATEM shifted out and made contact with FOULARD became unbalanced.

N. Jolly, rider of FOULARD, was found guilty of a charge of misconduct under AR 83(a), in that on return to scale he used audible obscenities. N. Jolly was fined $250.


RACE 2: BERNIE MOON/MIKE MORGAN H'CAP - 1100M.

As A. Abrahams was to be overweight, D. Evans was substituted as the rider of DOOKIE DAZE. A. Abrahams was fined $100.

On jumping away, AZZURRO MAGIC shifted in and made contact with BAZZA MORATO.

COMIQUE DREAM was slow to begin.

Approaching the 1000m., DOOKIE DAZE had to be checked when tightened for room between AZZURRO MAGIC, which shifted out slightly, and SPECIAL LANGFUHR, which shifted in.

L. Cook, rider of WOODEN EYE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that rounding the home turn she allowed her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of THE BEAT GOES ON, resulting in THE BEAT GOES ON having to be checked off the heels of AZZURRO MAGIC. COMIQUE DREAM, which was following, was hampered as a consequence. L. Cook was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 22 March, and to expire at midnight, 4 April 2003.

Approaching the 950m., SHYON shifted in, tightening the running of MERVYN, SPECIAL LANGFUHR and BAZZA MORATO, which was taken in on to the hind quarters of WOODEN EYE and had to be checked. Whilst stewards accepted that SHYON did have a tendency to hang in, M. Smith-Lester, rider of SHYON, was nonetheless severely reprimanded for failing to make a greater effort to keep his horse straight.

At the 900m., AZZURRO MAGIC lost its position when further tightened for room by SPECIAL LANGFUHR, which was taken in by MERVYN, which hung in despite the efforts of its rider.

Rounding the home turn, the saddle on YODELLING DIXIE rolled to the near-side, placing its rider, N. Day, at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.



D. Ballard, rider of MERVYN, was obliged to stop riding and straighten his mount near the 100m. after that horse was inclined to lay in.


RACE 3: RACEDAY STAFF H'CAP - 1100M.

CLAD was slow to begin.

KENSO COWBOY jumped awkwardly.

WORTHY REWARD also jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

After leaving the 800m., BALRINO BOY had to be restrained off the heels of SONHADOR. WORTHY REWARD, which was following, also had to be restrained as a consequence.

Over the concluding stages, KENSO COWBOY had to be steadied off the heels of BATTLER'S PRINCE.


RACE 4: GEOFF DIXON/BRADLEY WHITE H'CAP - 1100M.

KARMILLA jumped out at the start and made heavy contact with SIERRA DANCER, which had to be checked when taken out on to the hind quarters of LITTLE JOHN'S GIRL near the 1000m..

UNDER COVET shifted out at the start, taking BALRINO LASS out on to YODELLING DIXIE, which was taken out on to the hind quarters of MRS FAIRWEATHER.

Near the 950m., LITTLE JOHN'S GIRL shifted in and made contact with KARMILLA, resulting in KARMILLA striking the running rail and losing considerable ground.

Approaching the 900m., YODELLING DIXIE and MRS FAIRWEATHER bumped on several occasions.

G. Birney, rider of MISS ZEUS, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that he permitted his mount to shift out near the 500m. when insufficiently clear of KARMILLA, resulting in KARMILLA having to be checked. G. Birney was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 26 March, and to expire at midnight, 6 April 2003.

Rounding the home turn, SIERRA DANCER had to be steadied off the heels of LITTLE JOHN'S GIRL.

After passing the 200m., UNDER COVET, shifted in and became unbalanced after making heavy contact with the running rail.

Near the 150m., SIERRA DANCER shifted out and made contact with MRS FAIRWEATHER.

A veterinary examination of YODELLING DIXIE revealed a small abrasion to the outside of the off hind cannon.

The club's veterinary surgeon also reported that UNDER COVET had sustained bruising to the off side stifle.


RACE 5: MEMBERS H'CAP - 1100M.

BELLA'S HIGHLIGHT, which reared over behind the gates, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

JAN'S FOLLY was slow to begin.

At the 1000m., MISS MULAN shifted out, taking BELLA'S HIGHLIGHT out on to HAPPYDAZE, which in turn shifted out, forcing DIAMOND LASS out on to KIMBERLEY COOL, resulting in DIAMOND LASS being checked after making heavy contact with that horse.

Near the 500m., MISS MULAN had to be checked when attempting a run where there was doubtful room between DIAMOND LASS and the tiring DABARLYN DANCER.

A veterinary examination of JAN'S FOLLY following the event failed to reveal any abnormality.


RACE 6: KEN REDSHAW/LYLE ROWE H'CAP - 1650M.

DONNABELLE was slow to begin.

Making the turn out of the straight on the first occasion, INTREPID SEA shifted out and made contact with the hind quarters of GUBBINGAR.

TALOBILLA pulled hard in the early and middle stages.

N. Jolly, rider of GOLDIE'S SON, pleaded guilty to a charge of misconduct under AR 83(a), in that on returning to scale he used audible obscenities towards jockey C. Whitely. N. Jolly was fined the sum of $1000, $700 of which was suspended under LR 36(h) for a period of 12 months.

C. Whitely, rider of ADILLO ADILLO, was found guilty of a charge of misconduct under AR 83(a), in that he also on returning to scale used audible obscenities towards jockey N. Jolly. As C. Whitely had not previously been charged under this rule, he was fined the sum of $100.

RACE 7: JIMBOOMBA COUNTRY TAVERN H'CAP - 950M.

Trainer K. Pattillo was fined $50 for failing to declare a rider for TELEWIN by the prescribed time.

Apprentice D. Evans was fined $200 for negligence, in that he failed to weigh out in the presence of the Clerk of Scales prior to handing over his saddle to the trainer.

BAA HA was slow to begin.

Near the 100m., when shifting out to improve, BAA HA made contact with ON THE WEEKEND. BAA HA was unable to obtain clear running for the remainder of the event.


RACE 8: A.J. BUSH & SONS - ROTARY DISTRICT 9640 CUP - 1100M.

BAGOLINO was slow to begin.



RACE 9: J GILL ELECTRIAL/COMMERCIAL HOTEL H'CAP - 1200M.

PARTRIDGE raced wide throughout the race.

TALK ABOUT REAL shifted in at the start, hampering IT'S GRAND.


RACE 10: BEAUDESERT CHICKEN GROWERS ASSOCIATION H'CAP - 1400M.

Trainer G. Stewart was fined $50 for failing to declare a rider for LORD ALANNON by the prescribed time.

AGINTOY and GRAND SALIERI were slow to begin.

STAR GAMBLER raced wide in the early and middle stages.





ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
