Race 1: Jimboomba Quota Class 2 Handicap 1100m

1st: A Pair Of Diamonds 2nd: Gold Land 3rd: Monashee Gold 4th: Jam Tin

VEGAS LASS (App. A. Kitson) which took charge of its rider during the preliminary, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.

HUSSON'S FORTUNE (M. Abe) began awkwardly.

ZAHA SECRET (S. Drake) was tightened at the start between JAM TIN (K. Banks) and MONASHEE GOLD (L. Finlay) which shifted out.

MISS MINARDI (App. B Wallace) shifted out near the 400m and made contact with MYSTIC MINT (App. A. Allen).

L. Finlay, the rider of MONASHEE GOLD, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that at a point near the 100m he allowed his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of ABSOLUTELY MAYBE (App. T. Huxham), resulting in that runner having to be checked and lose its rightful running. L. Finaly's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 6 meetings, with the term of suspension to commence at midnight 30 July 2011, and expire at midnight 7 August 2011.

ABSOLUTELY MAYBE had difficulty obtaining clear running from near the 250m, and after being checked near the 100m, was again held up and went to the winning post without being fully tested by its rider.

GOLD LAND (M. Radecker), QUEEN OF DANES (M. Hughes), MYSTIC MINT and MISS MINARDI all raced wide the majority of the event.

App. B. Wallace reported that MISS MINARDI was forced to raced wide throughout and this had an effect on the way the filly was able to finish off the race.

Race 2: Veresdale Hotel Maiden Plate 1200m

1st: Subspecies 2nd: Straightup Hustler 3rd: Skiddles 4th: Chicago Bound

MONASHEE SUCCESS (S. Bayliss) and JEWEL OF TIBER (M. Hughes) began awkwardly.

CORPORAL LADY (K. Banks) and DREAM HIGHER (App. R. Jamieson) were tightened at the start between FUNDEVOGEL (App. E. O'Connell) and VAN ROBERTO (R. Agnew), both of which shifted ground.

JEWEL OF TIBER was tightened shortly after the start between SKIDDLES (S. Drake) and FAVERSHAM (App. K. Gates) which shifted in.

JEWEL OF TIBER rounded the home turn awkwardly and shifted out.

STRAIGHTUP HUSTLER (App. B. Wallace), FAVERSHAM and FUNDEVOGEL all raced wide the majority of the event.

Stewards sought an explanation from S. Bayliss regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of MONASHEE SUCCESS. He explained that the colt travelled well in the lead, however when placed under pressure on the home turn MONASHEE SUCCESS failed to respond as anticipated and only finished the race off fairly. He added that in his opinion the colt proved disappointing today. Stewards noted the explanation.

Stewards sought an explanation from B. Cornell regarding TYCOON STELLA which performed below market expectations. He stated that the mare raced keenly outside the leader, and when placed under pressure at the 400m, the mare failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination of TYCOON STELLA did not reveal any significant abnormalities.

The connections of CORPORAL LADY reported the filly returned to the enclosure without her near fore plate and believed this may have been displaced prior to the race.

Race 3: Wanless Maiden Plate 1400m

1st: Quality Coup 2nd: Sideshow Summer 3rd: Rushcutters Bay 4th: Haven Princess

As M. Johnson was injured, L. Cheshire was declared as the replacement rider for LOO CHAIN.

TRAWLER MAN (D. Green) began awkwardly.

MOON LANDING (M. Radecker) blundered on jumping away.

WINNING MOMENTS (M. Abe) was slow to begin.

VAN HOOLIGAN (R. Agnew) and RETRACTED (S. Drake) who were both slow to begin, were tightened shortly after the start by QUALITY COUP (App. B. Wallace) and HAVEN PRINCESS (B. Cornell) which shifted in.

TRAWLER MAN shifted out near the 1000m and forced BRODENBRI (T. Gray) wider on the track.

TRAWLER MAN shifted in away from the whip near the 400m. JABIRU DREAMING (App. S Arnold) who was racing to the inside of TRAWLER MAN the shifted in and away from this runner despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in LOO CHAIN (L. Cheshire) having to be steadied when tightened to the inside of JABIRU DREAMING. At a subsequent enquiry, D. Green the rider of TRAWLER MAN, reported that the gelding had hung out from the turn near the 600m and proved difficult to ride. Trainer T. Catip was advised that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of TRAWLER MAN.

RETRACTED was momentarily help up and unable to improve rounding the home turn.

BRODENBRI, MOON LANDING and HAVEN PRINCESS all raced wide the majority of the event.

A post race veterinary examination of TRAWLER MAN did not reveal any significant abnormalities other than some minor chaffing near the placement of the saddle.

Race 4: A & J Cartage Jimboomba Class 4 Handicap 1400m

1st: Bruncher 2nd: Vivaheart 3rd: Sittinbul 4th: Keltic Honour

BRUNCHER (App. S. Wiseman), ARABIA (M. Hughes) and PRESSED ON (App. T. Huxham) were slow to begin.

S. Drake, the rider of SITTINBUL, dropped her whip on straightening.

KENNY'S MAGIC (App. K. Gates) was inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.

KENNY'S MAGIC, BROOKLYN ROADS (App. M. Walters), CATCHER MAN (App. R. Jamieson) and PRESSED ON all raced wide the majority of the event.

L. Finlay, the rider of KELTIC HONOUR, reported that the gelding raced a little dour, and in his opinion, may be better suited in races over a longer distance than today's race. Trainer F. Braybrook also reported that the gelding had been galloped on on the off hind.

Race 5: Mark Palmer Racing Class B Handicap 1400m

1st: All The Torque 2nd: Backup Plan 3rd: Legal View 4th: Cleopatra's List

STREET JAM (App. A. Allen) and BACKUP PLAN (App. S. Wiseman) began awkwardly.

TRADIES HOPE (R. Agnew) and CLEOPATRA'S LIST (D. Green) bumped on jumping.

MOT DE PASSE (App. E. O'Connell), DUBAI METRO (S. Bayliss) and PERSIAN SEA (App. B. Wallace) all raced wide the majority of the event.

Stewards sought an explanation from App. E. O'Connell regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of MOT DE PASSE. She stated that after travelling well in running, the gelding was under pressure approaching the home turn. She added that after straightening the gelding also became unbalanced for several strides, and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination of MOT DE PASSE revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery rate. Trainer K. Hickmott advised that the gelding would now be sent for a spell.
