RACE 1: STEVE & JUDY COOK & BELLVIEW HOTEL CLASS B – 1000M.

The start was delayed due to the late arrival of the ambulance.

Enquiry opened into the reason ESCUTCHEONS (D Rewald), was severely checked near the 800m and BLUE PISTOL, WESTDRUMS, PERSISTING and WIZMO also being tightened. B Calkin (BOLD SIGN) was found guilty of a careless riding charge under AR137 (a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period of 8 meetings as of mid – night 29-11-04 and to expire at mid – night 10-12-04.

Time off 1.35 PM.

RACE 2: QTIS ADDED STAKES & GRAHAM HENDERSON MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M.

NADEEDA stood flat – footed as the gates opened losing considerable ground. Connections were advised that a further barrier certificate is required for NADEEDA prior to its next start.

OUR RED RUBY was slowly away. Connections were advised that a further barrier certificate is required for OUR RED RUBY prior to its next start.

Time off 2.30 PM.

RACE 3: MCCRACKEN’S WATER SERVICES & DALBY CLEANING & CATERING SUPPLIES CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1200M.

SEQUALO GIRL, which broke away from the tie up stalls, was subsequently cleared by the Veterinary Surgeon to start.

PRINCESS GEORGIA was slowly away.

Enquiry into the reason TOUCH PRINCE was checked at the 600m. It was revealed that the saddle on OH CHRIS (D Van Bekkum) slipped to the off side placing the rider at a disadvantage, however it was established that OH CHRIS moved in prior to the saddle shifting causing TOUCH PRINCE to check and ST ARNOU to be inconvenienced. D Van Bekkum was severely reprimanded for not making more effort to keep her mount straight.

REGAL DRAW made the home turn wide.

Time off 3.05 PM.

RACE 4: EDGAR & WOOD CLASS 3 PLATE – 1300M.

W Cook (WHAT A LANDING) replaced P Gesler who failed to arrive on course due to transport problems.

Enquiry into the reason BIRUBI CHOSEN was checked and LAST HUMAN losing ground near the 650m. It was established that TSAR DANCER (L McCoy) appeared to jump something and then ducked in sharply for no apparent reason causing LAST HUMAN (M Price) to strike the running rail and drop back into the path of BIRUBI CHOSEN, which was severely checked. No blame could be apportioned to any rider however riders were reminded of their obligations to react quickly to situations to attempt to protect other riders.

TOOLBOX and SEAHAWK DANCER were both slowly away.

RACE 5: WATTLE BRAE STUD DOWNS SERIES DAVID KANE MEMOERIAL H’CAP – 1400M.

Enquiry opened into the improved performance of heavily backed EXCLAIM, which finished last at its previous start at Roma on 20-11-04. Trainer G Taylor explained that heavy rain fell prior to the race at Roma and EXCLAIM, which raced well back did not handle the conditions and finished with sand in both eyes and somewhat distressed. The horse had done well since and as the race was considered to be not as strong, Trainer G Taylor was confident of its chances today, explanation noted.
