Stewards questioned Jockey S Galvin and Trainer D Tunnah in regards the tactics adopted on RULES FOR LIFE particularly during the early and middle stages. Jockey Galvin stated that he was instructed to go back on the horse from the wide gate in an attempt obtain a position close to the fence. Jockey Galvin further stated that after he initially restrained the gelding at the start the gelding showed no speed from that point and raced some 4 lengths behind the second last horse despite his urgings to have the gelding racing closer to the field. Jockey Galvin further stated that in his opinion the gelding raced like a tired horse. Mr Tunnah confirmed the instructions given to jockey Galvin and stated he was very disappointed with the geldings performance. Mr Tunnah further stated that the gelding would be sent for an immediate spell. Stewards noted both explanations.
