WEATHER – Fine TRACK – Good RAIL – True
RACE 1: QTIS MAIDEN H'CAP – 1050m
Trainer T Johnstone fined $50 for failing to enact transfer for KENTUCKY TANGO.
Permission was granted to take the blinkers off ROAD TO DARWIN.
CRAIGLEA JEWEL performed poorly. Jockey L Appo felt that the horse was unsuited in the going.
CRAIGLEA KNIGHT raced wide all the way.
Apprentice R Graham was spoken to regarding his loose hold on his mount.
KWILA BLACK jumped inwards at the start coming into contact with TAKARAKKA.
KALINGA METAL jumped inwards forcing KENTUCKY TANGO and ROAD TO DARWIN inwards onto CRAIGLEA JEWEL inconveniencing that horse.
RACE 2: OPEN H'CAP – 1050m
ROYAL CHANDON (NZ) jumped well but commenced to lose ground after going 200 metres. O Galea told stewards the horse did not show any of its usual dash.
READY EDDIE raced erratically in the early and middle stages and only after going to the fence on the home turn did it race truly.
RACE 3: CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1050m
Nothing to report.
RACE 4: QTIS CLASS 2 H’cap - 1050m
CRAIGLEA LACE dipped and lost ground as the gates opened.
CRAIGLEA QUEEN hung badly on the home turn forcing TACK LANE, which was racing on its outside, to be inconvenienced.
BURRA BELLE raced wide on the home turn and hampered CRAIGLEA QUEEN when that horse attempted to straighten.
RACE 5: OPEN H'CAP – 1400m

RACE 6: CRAIGLEA STUD CLASS 3 HANDICAP - 1300 Metres
COVET ‘N’ BLACK scratched when no rider available.
Trainer Rex Morrison presented OVERTHROW to race without blinkers. He stated that the horse had raced at its last 4 starts without blinkers. A check of race videos following the race meeting revealed that that horse had started with blinkers at its last four starts. Mr Morrison was fined $50.
KEEP ME IN MIND attempted to duck out passing the winning post.
