Race 1: Chrisway Mt Service/Depco Drilling QTIS Maiden- 1000 metres
1st – RED LION LASS 2nd - BARALABA BABE 3rd – MONASHEE DEVIL 4th – HEARTS WILL
On jumping away, TOMARY FLAME (A. Coome) shifted out abruptly and forced RED SAVANNAH (App. H O’Hara) outwards.
DARRAFLYER (S. Sheargold) jumped awkwardly in onto AVYA XENA (R. Hall)
BLU LIGHTNING (M. Cullen) and RED SAVANNAH raced wide throughout.

CELLULAR (S. Watkin) jumped in onto SYMATINA (App. H. O’Hara).
From approximately the 800 metres, RUBY FRISCO (M. Barnham) raced wide on the track.
At approximately the 500 metres, PREMIER RESORT blundered badly and lost ground when it struck a soft patch on the track.
Race 3: Riddett Haulage/ Blackwater Hardware Class B Handicap - 1200 metres
1st - TUSCAN BEAUTY 2nd – CAN’T BE TOLD 3rd – ABINDAH 4th – PURO SANGUE
The start time of this race was delayed approximately 20 minutes due to remedial maintenance being undertaken on the track at approximately the 500 metres.
Trainer A. Dixon was fined $50 for failing to present the Document of Description for HAYIL’N CHALLENGE.
ABINDAH (T. O’Hara) was slow to begin.
At the winning post, TUSCAN BEAUTY (S. Watkin) shifted out slightly and ABINDAH was steadied.
Apprentice H. O’Hara reported HAYIL’N CHALLENGE was inclined to shift ground in the early stages, and over-raced in the middle stages until the gelding was able to lead. Apprentice O’Hara further stated, in her opinion, the track conditions and distance of 1200 metres may also not have suited the gelding in today’s event.
Jockey R. Hall was cautioned in relation to the use of the whip in a forehand manner in consecutive strides
Race 4: Zinc Hi Class 3 Handicap - 1400 metres
1st – TAYANSO 2nd – IN BOLD FASHION 3rd – TOKYO TANGO 4th – SAIONJI
This race was delayed as the saddle on SIODEE required adjustment.
PUNCH THE AIR (S. Watkin) and RAINBOW RAIDER (R. Hall) jumped away awkwardly.
EAGLEDANCE KID (T. O’Hara) was slow to begin and raced wide throughout.
TOKYO TANGO (M. Cullen) was inclined to lay in and shift ground in the middle stages.
RAINBOW RAIDER commenced to lose contact with the field from approximately the 1000m and raced at the rear throughout. A post-race veterinary inspection failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Trainer K. Price stated the gelding would now be retired from racing and on that basis, Stewards took no action.
From approximately the 250 metres to near the 100 metres, the whip of Jockey M. Barnham (IN BOLD FASHION) had become caught in the reins and was unable to ridden out with his usual vigour.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
