Race 1: Scharz Excavations Class 3 Plate - 950 metres
1st CALARABEN 2nd GIVE IM ZA 3rd NOAH’S SMILE 4th- NEVACANTEL
Stewards declared CRAIGLE RAWIE a late scratching at 12:45pm due to confirmed phone call from the Trainer that he was unable to be on-course at the required time, due to a break down.
MADDIE YO YO (N Patchett) raced wide throughout.
Race 2: Watpac Civil & Mining PTY LTD QTIS Maiden Plate- 950 metres
1st STAMPEDE STRAP 2nd MISS ALLYKAT 3rd ALMOST DIAMONDS 4th- UKOK LASS
Stewards declared JUNGLE WOMAN a late scratching due to no riders available.
After consultation with club, all races were brought forward approximately 20 minutes due to forecast weather conditions.
RIDGEE DIDGEE (N Patchett) began awkwardly and blundered on jumping away.
At the start KING TUDOR (I Coombes) jumped out and bumped STAMPEDE STRAP (T O’Hara).
Approaching the 700m RIDGEE DIDGEE lay out and bumped UKOK LASS (M Barnham) out onto STAMPEDE STRAP.
STAMPEDE STRAP raced wide throughout.
Jockey I Coombes reported that KING TUDOR did not handle the dirt surface and was not competitive. Trainer D Munns was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding in regards to its poor performance.
A post-race veterinary examination of RIDGEE DIDGEE revealed the horse to be sore in the neck area. Trainer L Challacombe was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required for the horse prior to its next race start.
Race 3: T & J Whitehouse Investments Class B Handicap- 1200 metres
1st– NAVILLUS GRANDIVA 2nd – GOD SHE’S RAUNCHY 3rd PALLADIUM STAR 4th-BAYMORE
Jockey M Barnham was to be 1 ½ kilograms overweight for his engagement on UKOK LASS. Due to no other rider being available stewards permitted Jockey Barnham to fulfil his engagement 1 ½ kilograms over. Jockey Barnham was fined $100 AR120B.
GOD SHE’S RAUNCHY (I Coombes) jumped awkwardly at the start.
WINCHMORE LASS (C Pye) began awkwardly and dipped at the start and was retired from the event near the 600m. Apprentice C Pye reported that the mare felt awkward in her action and as a result eased her out of the event. A post-race veterinary examination of WINCHMORE LASS revealed the horse to be sore in the shoulder and back. Trainer A Stephens was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required for the horse prior to its next race start.
BAYMORE bled from both nostrils during the event. Trainer G Bell was advised that BAYMORE would be barred from racing for 3 months.
Race 4: Jellinbah Mining Robby Haynes Memorial Open Handicap- 1200 metres
1st MAGIC PEARL 2nd JOE KWILA 3rd DUAL ECHELON 4th – SEEKAWINNER
Stewards declared INDOLLARGENCE a late scratching at 12:45pm due to confirmed phone call from theTrainer that he was unable to be on-course at the required time, due to a break down.
No racing incidents.
