Supplementary Report

From Stanthorpe - Race 5 – Apprentice B. Ainsworth, the rider of Valentine Girl was fined $100 for using her whip in the forehand on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.


Race 1 CLIFTON REAL ESTATE/FELTON PRODUCE CLASS B HCP – 1000M:

CALBESSY – Was tightened for room on jumping away and was forced to ease.

SPECTACULAR ROCK – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.

HIDDEN EDITION – When questioned in regards to the seemingly disappointing performance, rider stated that the intentions were to be in a midfield position and after only jumping fairly was forced to race back further than anticipated. Rider further added that the filly raced greenly and proved disappointing over the concluding stages. Trainer T. Webb was fined $100 for removing the horse from the course prior to the prescribed time.

LARIMAH – Apprentice B. Ainsworth was reminded of her obligations to ride her mount out to the finish.

Race 2 PB AGRIFOOD BMK 65 HCP – 1100M:

OCTAVANUS – Was slow to begin.

WILLYWYNYA – Laid out rounding the home turn.

Race 3 RAY BUNCH MACHINERY QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M:

ENGROSS – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out at the start.

EXPECTED TOBEGREAT – Had to be restrained off heels near the 800m.
Rider reported at scale that the mare had a tendency to lay in in the early stages and raced greenly throughout the event.

GANADO EXPRESS – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages resulting in apprentice R. Payne being forced to stop riding near the 150m and straighten her mount. Apprentice R. Payne advised stewards that the gelding then proved difficult to ride out over the final 100m and was unable to be fully tested.

THIS CITI ROCKS – Hung out throughout the event and tailed off. Apprentice B. Newport stated that the colt, whilst laying out proved difficult to ride and was unable to be fully tested. Trainer B. Park advised stewards that the horse would now be retired. A post-race veterinary examination of the horse revealed that the colt was lame in the near fore leg. Trainer B. Park was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness must be provided prior to This Citi Rocks racing again.


Race 4 PACIFIC SEEDS/PURSEHOUSE RURAL CLIFTON OPEN HCP – 1580M:

Correct weight was delayed to afford Jockey R. Goltz, the rider of STORM MAGIC, which finished in 2nd place, the opportunity to view the photo finish print. R. Goltz was subsequently satisfied with the placing’s and correct weight was declared on the judges numbers semaphored.

VICE OR VIRTUE – Bumped by another runner on jumping away.

Race 5 PHILP BRODIE GRAINS BMK 55 HCP– 1580M:

COMMANDER BOLTZ – Stood footed at the start and lost significant ground. Trainer K. Bolton was advised that the gelding would now be required to obtain two Barrier certificates prior to being permitted to race again. One of which must be in an official barrier trial.

AUBREY’S ACE – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

ROYALTOWN ROAD – Had to be restrained from heels when AMAIZING DRAGON shifted in near the 800m. Jockey S. Apthorpe, the rider of Amaizing Dragon was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

PALPITATE – Raced three wide throughout the event.
At the conclusion of this event Jockey Bradley Appo became ill and was subsequently stood down. Mr. Appo was advised that he would now require a medical clearance prior to being permitted to ride again.
