Race 1: COLEMAN STOCK FEEDS CLASS B HANDICAP – 800 metres
1st – Care to share 2nd – Chicamoni 3rd – Likeadylan 4th – Molongle Lass

FLIRTING DRAGON (J. Long) began awkwardly and as a consequence was slow to begin.

WHYDON’TYALIKEME (J. Felix) knuckled at the start and lost some ground.

RATSTAN (D. Andrews) raced wide throughout.

Near the 200 metres MAINSHAFT (M. Cullen) had to be eased when CHICAMONI (M. Atkinson) shifted in under pressure. Jockey Atkinson was advised to exercise more care in future circumstances.

Race 2: ENTERPRISE HOTEL/THIRSTY CAMEL/ASAHI MAIDEN PLATE – 1000 metres
1st – Mark Me Olee 2nd – Top Decision 3rd– Oaxaca 4th– Sequalo Suzie

On jumping away LOG CABIN (M. Atkinson) was tightened for room between SOLE SURVIVOR (A. Dykes) and TRACK ACTION (D. Andrews) both of which shifted ground. As a consequence LOG CABIN lost some ground.

MY PAL HOUSTON (S. Wilson) as slow to begin.

SEQUALO SUZIE (App E. Ljung) raced wide throughout.

A post – race veterinary examination of TRACK ACTION which finished a distant last did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Ms J Russell stated that TRACK ACTION was also accepted for the 800 metre Class B race today, however it was first emergency in that event did not gain a start. Ms Russell further stated that it would have been her preference to start the mare in that event as it has better form over the distance of 800 metres and in her opinion may have not run out a strong 1000 metres. Stewards noted here explanation.




Race 3: EVOLUTION MINING QTIS CLASS 2 HANDICAP– 1200 metres
1st – Court Action 2nd – Craiglea Pixie 3rd – Keep Your Hat On 4th – Jaxter’s Ballet

At the start LET IT LOSE (J. Long) was slow to begin.

Apprentice E Ljung reported that her mount ERNEST ALBERT dropped the bit near the 600 metres and was forced to ride hands and heels to maintain her position.


Race 4: TOWNSVILLE EVENTS OPEN HANDICAP – 1200 metres
1st – Arcatran 2nd – John’s Special 3rd – Surpasser 4th– Montanus

At the start JOHN’S SPECIAL (P. Cullen) began awkwardly jumping outwards making contact with ARCATRAN (M. Cullen) who as a result lost ground.


Race 5: CHATERS TOWERS AMATEUR CUP BENCHMARK 70 HANIDCAP – 1600 metres
1st – Strom The Rhythm 2nd – Brandy Beau 3rd – Blast Out Of Here 4th – Rockbel

When questioned as to the disappointing performance of ISSUES, Jockey P. Cullen stated that he was instructed to lead and when doing so the gelding commenced to over race till nearing the 500 metres. Jockey Cullen further added after leaving the 500 metres ISSUES dropped the bit and failed to respond to his riding. A post – race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards noted Jockey Cullen’s comments.
