SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

As Apprentice I French was indisposed riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary. I French was advised that he would require a medical clearance prior to riding again.

AL KHAFRA was declared a late scratching at 1.20pm by order of the Stewards acting on Veterinary advice after it was discovered that the horse had sustained an injury to its near hind hock. Stewards advised Trainer S Higgins that AL KHAFRA would require a Veterinary clearance prior to next start.

RACE 1: WESTERN AUTO ELECTRICAL REPAIRS MAIDEN PLATE 800M–
1st -Pfeiffer 2nd -Ticker 3rd -Hawaii 4th -Viscount Express

ACCLIMATISE (C Rogers) and ICANWIN (C Schumacher) both began very awkwardly losing considerable ground.

At the start, HAWAII MOON (E Wilson) jumped out making heavy contact with the barrier partition.

BILLABONG BOB (C Baker) was considerably slow to begin.

Apprentice (E Wilson) was reprimanded for failing to weigh in for 3rd. When considering the matter Stewards took into account apprentice Wilson's relative inexperience and the fact that she had never been in breach of Ar144 prior to today.





RACE 2: BOOKMAKERS CLASS B H'CAP 1000M–
1st -Lukes Bid 2nd -Master Artist 3rd -Sonny Da Silver 4th -Lord Sutch

NASHAMA was declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 1.40pm as there was no rider available.

LUKES BID (R Kerwin) and LORD SUTCH (C Bryen) both raced wide throughout.

A post race Veterinary Inspection of ANISSETTE (C Rogers) which seemingly raced below expectation failed to reveal any abnormalities. When questioned by Stewards trainer B Sheppard stated that he believes the horse is not suited by the sand racing surface and due to the poor performance it was his intension to spell the horse.

RACE 3: LIFE MEMBERS OPEN H'CAP 1000M–
1st -Kings Beauty 2nd -Junk Bond 3rd -Pankki 4th -Desert Star

RA SUN (S Sweedman) and FLYING KWILA (C Schumacher) were both slow to begin.

Approaching the 600m, KING"S BEAUTY (E Wilson) was tightened for room and had ease when racing to the inside of CLASSIC WINNER (C Bryen). Jockey Bryen stated that his horse was inclined to run away from the horses to his outside which resulted in KING"S BEUATY being tightened for room despite his best efforts to keep his mount straight. Under the circumstances Stewards took no action against any one rider however Stewards did advise jockey Bryen to exercise more care in the future when his horse is shifting ground.

MIGNIGHT SILENCE (C Rogers) was held up for clear running over the concluding stages.

RACE 4: TONY FACEY MEMORIAL CLASS 3 PLATE 1200M –
1st -Littleboyboo 2nd -El Cober 3rd -Beguiling Star 4th Supreme Ascot

EL COBAR (S Sweedman) and MY KAVITA (C Bryen) were both slow to begin.

Stewards opened an inquiry into the reasons why C Rogers the rider of LOVE JACK was dislodged at approximately 900m. After taking evidence from all riders, Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a time and date to be fixed to enable C Rogers to be present as she was transported to hospital.

MY KAVITA (C Bryen) and EL COBAR (S Sweedman) were both severely hampered at approximately the 900m, when required to take evasive action to avoid the riderless horse and fallen rider.

Approaching the 300m, W Glass the rider of LITTLEBOYBOO accidentally dropped his whip.

RACE 5: ROSS IVERSON MEMORIAL OPEN H’CAP 1620M
1st -Chief Inspector 2nd King Corona 3rd Merry Pierce 4th Eagle Juan

CHIEF INSPECTOR (S Sweedman) shifted out under hard riding over the concluding stages.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of EVADING jockey R Kerwin stated that after being wide early she managed to get the horse one of the fence approaching the 1200m. She further stated that once she placed her mount under pressure at the 800m the gelding failed to respond to her riding and as a result was very disappointed with the gelding's performance. A post race Veterinary Inspection of EVADING failed to reveal any abnormalities.
