CENTRAL WARREGO RACE CLUB – Tuesday 4th NOVEMBER 2008

Race 1: CHARLEVILLE PHARMACY & WAGNER DOYLE GORDON MAIDEN PLATE MAIDEN PLATE 1000M:
1st – CANTLEY LANE 2nd – LEGAL FEE 3rd – EUDAIMONIA 4th – ACCLIMATISE

VISCOUNT EXPRESS (C Bryen) became fractious in the barrier. Reared as the gates where released and lost considerable ground.

ZEDZED (W Glass) raced greenly over the final stages proving difficult to ride out.

BILLABONG BOB (App P Randall) which finished distanced under went a post race veterinary examination but no abnormalities were detected. Trainer Mr R Sullivan advised that BILLABONG BOB would now be sent for a spell.


Race 2: QANTASLINK HANDICAP CLASS 5 1000M:
1st – MASTER ARTIST 2nd – TWINJAR 3rd – KALINGA BLAZE 4th – NASHAMA

TWINJAR (App R Kerwin) and NASHAMA (C Baker) both became factious in the barrier prior to the start.

CLASSIC WINNER (C Bryen) became fractious and reared as the start was effected losing ground. Trainer Ms R Benfer was advised that a warning was placed on the barrier manners of CLASSIC WINNER.


TWINJAR became momentarily unbalanced near the 400m.

LORD TALLUN (App P Randall) was obliged to race wide on the straightening.

A post race veterinary examination revealed that CHIEF HARRIGAN returned lame in the off fore leg. Trainer Mr B Waldron was advised that a veterinary certificate of soundness would be required before CHIEF HARRIGAN raced again.


Race 3: FRANK CAVANOUGH MEMORIAL (QTIS ADDED STAKES) HANDICAP Class 1 1200 m:
1st – MOJACH 2nd – SONNY DA SILVER 3rd – SADLIERS CROSSING 4th – CAWDOR TONY

SONNY DA SILVER (C Baker) jumped inwards when released and bumped SADLIERS CROSSING (App S Sweedman).

LORD SUTCH (C Bryen) jumped outwards when released and brushed MOJACH (W Glass) who inturn shifted out and bumped CERTAIN CIRCLES (App D Evans).

GO ON GREG (App P Randall) shifted out near the 200m despite the rider’s efforts causing SONNY DA SILVER to be momentarily steadied and shifted wider.

Stewards opened an inquiry into the tactics employed by App D Evans on CERTAIN CIRCLES. After taking evidence from App Evans and Trainer Mr P Richardson the inquiry was adjourned until a time and date to be fixed.

A post race veterinary examination of CERTAIN CIRCLES revealed no abnormalities.



Race 4: LYNN & DARRYL CAPEWELL BEAUREPAIRES & CHARLEVILLE CONCRETE OPEN HANDICAP 1200m:
1st – PANKKI 2nd – STORMY BEND 3rd – DESERT STAR 4th – KING’S BEAUTY

STORMY BEND (App I French) raced wide on the home turn and lay in, in the straight proving difficult to ride out.


Race 5: SOUTH WEST FORD & NISSAN CHARLEVILLE CUP QUALITY HANDICAP 1620m:
1st – CHIEF INSPECTOR 2nd – MERRY PIERCE 3rd – KING CORONA 4th – EAGLE JUAN

POWER’N’WATER (W Glass) jumped awkwardly when released became awkward on the heels of MARY PIERCE (App D Evans) and was steadied.

EAGLE JUAN (C Bryen) was obliged to race wide in the early stages.

CHIEF INSPECTOR (App S Sweedman) lay out near the 200m obliging the rider to stop and straighten.

MARY PIERCE lay out over the final stages taking CHIELF INSPECTOR out onto KING CORONA (C Baker) which was momentarily steadied and shifted wider.

Nearing the 150m KING CORONA lay in whilst under pressured and was steadied.

Stewards questioned App I French over the performance of RED MOUNTAIN and he stated that the gelding travelled well during the early stages but nearing the 1000m was under pressure and began to lose ground from that point. A post race veterinary examination of RED MOUNTAIN revealed that the gelding appeared in a distressed state and the clubs veterinary surgeon advised Mr Johnson that a veterinary certificate would be required before starting again with the results of an ECG.


Race 6: DJ’S PRODUCE CLASS 3 PLATE 1400m:
1st – FUYUNG 2nd – BREAD’N’WATER 3rd – TULLY MINSTREL 4th – EL COBAR

App D Evans (FUYUNG) was fined the sum of $100 under AR175 (k) for sending out the incorrect saddle cloth. Trainer Mr B Sheppard was fined $100 under AR140A for saddling FUYUNG with the wrong saddle cloth.

FUYUNG hung out leaving the 200m and over the final stages obliging App D Evans to stop and straighten his mount.
