Race 1: Brodie & Co Class 4 Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – BEAU DASH 2nd – PEG LEG 3rd – MASATAKA 4th – WAYNE’S GIFT

MAINS POWER – Was a late withdrawal when no suitable rider was available.

ONCE AGAIN MELADY – Reared as a start was effected and took no competitive part. Trainer Mrs D Sanderson was told that prior to racing again the mare would have to perform satisfactorily in 2 barrier trials.

BEAU DASH – Began awkwardly.

Race 2: Robert Sue See Memorial Benchmark 55 Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – DESERT SWEEP 2nd – I’M DESPERATE TOO 3rd – JOYFUL 4th – LITTLE VICTORIES

TALK TOUGH – Was a late withdrawal when no rider was available.

Stewards permitted D Ballard to ride LITTLE VICTORIES 3kgs over its declared weight when no other rider was available.

I’M DESPERATE TOO – Was slow away.

BROTHER BOB – Raced wide rounding the 600m turn.

WILLIE CLANG – Raced wide rounding the home turn.

EXTRA – When questioned regarding the poor performance of the gelding jockey A Morrison explained that after being slowly away he was then forced to race wide for the majority of the race. He added that the gelding was dropping back 400m in distance from its most recent start and in his opinion is better suited over longer distances. His explanation was noted.

CHAMAGNE ELOPING – When questioned regarding the poor performance jockey T Chambers was at a loss to explain the performance and said that in her opinion the mare which was having its first start in the area had poor form leading into today’s race. Her explanation was noted.

Race 3: Allflex Class 6 Plate 1200 metres:
1st – GHOST TRAIN 2nd – SMOOTH GENERAL 3rd – BRUNNER 4th – MIATOKO

FIRST BASE – Began awkwardly then raced wide rounding the home turn.

ESKVERNITH – Raced wide rounding the home turn.

MIATOKO – Raced wide rounding the home turn.

Race 4: Gary Cannon Memorial Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – WHISPER WILLOW 2nd – NO DELAY 3rd – SPECK OF GOLD 4th – HANDSOME KNIGHT

WHISPER WILLOW – Was reluctant to load into the barriers then raced wide rounding the home turn.

GENERAL SON – Was slow to begin.

Race 5: K & R Contracting Class B Handicap 1400 metres:
1st – TOUGH COMPANY 2nd – DUSTAL 3rd – DASHING DUB 4th – EXOTIC BOY

TEN TORINOS – Was a late withdrawal when no rider was available.

EXOTIC BOY – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
