Race 1: QTIS Maiden Plate - 1000 Mtrs

1st –Kalman 2nd – Dashingdesley 3rd –Princess Belita 4th – Irish Diva

KALMAN (D Whitmore) was fractious behind the barriers and dislodged his rider. CHARIOT OF JOY
(N Patchett) was fractious behind the barriers and reared throwing herself to the ground dislodging her rider in doing so. CHARIOT OF JOY was inspected and cleared to start prior to being loaded. Both were difficult to load.

DASHINGDESLEY (C Beets) was fractious in the barriers prior to the start. DASHINGDESLEY jumped outwards making heavy contact with BURN SO COOL (App T Dicey).

The barrier gates of IRISH DIVA (L Dillon) and CHARIOT OF JOY (N Patchett) were both slow to open. Shortly after the start CHARIOT OF JOY commenced to buck and was pulled up taking no further part in the event.

Approaching the 800mtr point App T Dicey rider of BURN SO COOL was dislodged from her mount. App T Dicey was treated on course by ambulance and taken to the Gladstone hospital for further treatment. An inquiry was opened into the incident and after initial evidence being taken from a number of riders subsequently adjourned to a date to be fixed.

KALMAN (D Whitmore) raced wide until entering the home straight. HIBISCUS BEACH (M Cant) hung badly rounding the home turn and raced erratically for some distance in the home straight.

Race 2: CLASS 2 Handicap – 1072 Mtrs

1st – Birdella 2nd – Scenic Spirit 3rd – Big Jet (NZ) 4th – Cant Be Told

The barrier gates of SCOTLAND (App A Taylor) and FRISCO’S MAGIQUE (D Van Bekkum) were slow to open. PRVATE DODGE (L Dillon) jumped awkwardly and outwards losing ground. SCOTLAND (App A Taylor) jumped awkwardly. At approximately the 750 mtr point SCOTLAND was obliged to be steadied off the heels of FRISCO’S MAGIQUE which was eased momentarily approaching the 800 turn. Approching the 800 mtr point BIRDELLA ( R Hall) was obliged to ease off the heels of CANT BE TOLD (M Cant) when after crossing was steadied by its rider. Jockey M Cant was reprimanded by stewards for easing his mount when insufficiently clear. KING STERLO hung badly rounding the home turn.



Race 3: Class 4 Handicap – 1000 Mtrs

1st – Cyclone George 2nd – Pixel World 3rd – All That Cash 4th – Forest Path

Approaching the 800 mtrs FOREST PATH (D Van Beckkum) threw its head and commenced to hang outwards. FOREST PATH continued to race ungenerously till after rounding the home turn.

Race 4: Class B Handicap – 1608 Mtrs

1st – Colt Fortyfive 2nd – Tayanso 3rd – Skybender 4th – My Beauty

The barrier gate of TAYANSO (D Evans) was slow to open. COLTFORTYFIVE (N Patchett) was slow into stride. REAL GRAND (D Van Bekkum) hung outwards and lost ground at the first turn. SKYBENDER (L Dillon) hung outwards rounding the home turn. COLTFORTYFIVE travelled wide in the early and middle stages. MUTHAIGA CLUB (M Cant) raced wide during the middle and final stages. Over the concluding stages LUMIERE D’ETOILE (C Beets) was obliged to change direction to avoid the heels of DRAKE’S PASSAGE (App A Butler) which was compounding.


Race 5: Open Handicap – 1072 Mtrs

1st – Snifter 2nd – Bikini Bottom 3rd – Victory Siren 4th – Iron Bridge (NZ)

TOPS LAD (R Hall) hung outwards rounding the home turn.
