A post race veterinary examination revealed CANADANE to have suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer T. Rowe was advised that the gelding would be barred from racing for a period of three months and would be required to gallop a 1000m to the satisfaction of stewards before the gelding would be permitted to race again under the previsions of AR. 53A. Furthermore, CANADANE would also be required to complete a barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards as a result of its racing manners before it would be permitted to race again.
