CUNNAMULLA DIGGERS’ RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT SAT. 6.7.02

WEATHER – FINE TRACK – SAND
RACE 1: TOBERMORY BAY MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000M
Correct weight was postponed as J Starr the rider of the second placegetter SECRET OBSESSION requested to look at the developed print. After being shown the print he was satisfied and correct weight was declared.
TREVALYAN, MULCH MAKER and SECRET OBSESSION were all slow to begin.
Both NUGS’ PRIDE and CHOICE VARIETY jumped away awkwardly.
TREVELYAN shifted in at the 500m and again at the 450m making contact with the rail.
SECRET OBSESSION, which was inclined to hang out made the home turn wide.
RACE 2: NEVER WET CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1000M
KASHMIR MAGIC jumped in at the start.
CAPRICIOUS RIVER was slow to begin.
Leaving the 400m, JACKSONS BANKROLL shifted in making contact with the tiring KASHMIR MAGIC, which in turn shifted in making contact with the rail.
A vet inspection of KASHMIR MAGIC, which performed disappointingly, revealed that the mare had sustained a slight laceration to the inside of the near hind cannon and was slightly favouring that leg.
When questioned Trainer R Robb stated that the stable had supported the horse in the event and were also disappointed with the horses’ performance he further stated that he would advise the stewards if anything further should come to light.
RACE 3: BILLABONG HOTEL MOTEL CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1200M
On return to scale C Wearne the rider of the second placegetter TERBY wished to look at the video of the start as he felt that his barrier had been slow to activate. After viewing the film it was agreed that the barrier had been marginally slow however it was ruled that the margin lost was not sufficient enough to be ruled a non-runner and correct weight was given.
RACE 4: CUNNAMULLA AND DISTRICT OPEN H'CAP – 1200M
YARRABILLI was slow to begin.
RACE 5: PAROO SHIRE CLASS 6 H'CAP – 1600M
No racing incidents.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
