RACE 1:WARREGO BUTCHERY CLASS 1 PLATE 1000M–
1st -Swoops 2nd -Bellrego 3rd –Lord Sutch 4th –Breakaway Miss

As S Sweedman was to be overweight he was replaced as the rider of MY PLANS by D Baker. S Sweedman at a subsequent inquiry was fined $100 for accepting a ride when overweight.

ANOTHER ROADIE (D Llambias) was slow to begin.

LEIGHET (G Williams) was very slow to begin losing considerable ground.

BELLREGO (R Kerwin) blundered shortly after the start.

BEAUTIFUL KEA (C Baker) raced wide throughout.


RACE 2:LOLA WEBSTER CLASS 4 H'CAP 1000M–
1st –Two Shinko’s 2nd -Starman 3rd -Littleboyboo 4th -Woodsy

As G Williams was to be overweight he was replaced as the rider of TRAVELLERS CHEQUES by C Baker. Stewards accepted both G Williams’ and trainer B Waldron’s explanations into the reason why jockey Williams was declared as the rider of TRAVELLERS CHEQUES when overweight and therefore took no further action.

TRAVELLERS CHEQUES (C Baker) was slow to begin.

EL COBAR (S Sweedman) was held up badly for some distance near the 350m and had to check from the heels of the tiring DANCE FOR BINDY (D Baker) near the 300m.

TRAVELLERS CHEQUES shifted in under pressure over concluding stages.

MY BOY LOLLIPOP (C Rogers) was held up for clear running for a short distance near the 150m.

A Post-Race Veterinary Inspection of DANCE FOR BINDY revealed the gelding to sore in the off-fore knee. Trainer J Ferguson was advised that DANCE FOR BINDY would require a Veterinary Certificate prior to next start. Trainer J Ferguson advised Stewards that it was his intention to retire the gelding after today’s run.

RACE 3:GALLIPOLI QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200M–
1st -Elimination 2nd –Kamiri Lass 3rd –Hawaii Moon 4th -Influenza

BYE BYE BUCKLER (C Schumacher) and HAFEY’S COMET were both very slow to begin.

Stewards will inquire into the reasons why App D Llambias the rider of HAFEY’S COMET was dislodged on the home turn at a time and date to be fixed to allow App Llambias to be present as he was transported to hospital.

RACE 4:QUEENSLAND COUNTRY RACING MATILDA HIGHWAY CLASS 3 PLATE 1200M –
1st -Gaffe 2nd –Sadliers Crossing 3rd -Barricades 4th-Cross The Floor

Due to App D Llambias being indisposed and there being no other rider’s available Stewards declared CERTAIN CIRCLES a Late Scratching at 3:20pm. As betting on the race had not commenced no deductions applied.

ROCK YOUR BODY (D Brown) which was slow to begin was further hampered at the start by SADLIERS CROSSING (S Sweedman) which jumped out.

LABELLED URGENT (S Galvin) began awkwardly losing ground.

NOTEWORTHY (C Bryen) attempted to buck shortly after the start. Stewards advised trainer E Jonson that the gelding would be required to barrier jump-out prior to next start.

Near the 1000m, ROCK YOUR BODY was forced to ease when tightened for room when racing between NOTEWORTHY which shifted out whilst racing ungenerously and GIANT’S CASTLE (W Glass) which was taken in by MIGHTY CANNY (G Williams) which was inturn taken by BREAD’N’WATER (C Baker).

MIGHTY CANNY shifted out rounding the 800m turn forcing BREAD’N’WATER very wide on the track.

A post-race inspection of AUDUBON (D Monaghan) revealed the gelding had bled from both nostrils. Trainer S Iverson was advised that AUDUBON would now be barred from racing for a period of 3 months under the provisions of Ar53.

Jockey R Kerwin the rider of CROSS THE FLOOR was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under Ar137(a) in that she shifted in when not sufficiently clear of AUDUBON (D Monaghan), resulting in that horse having to be checked when tightened between CROSS THE FLOOR and the running rail. Jockey R Kerwin’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 meeting to commence midnight the 25-04-09 and to expire midnight 4-05-09.



RACE 5:MURRAWONDAH COBAN POLL & MERINO STUD WEIGHT FOR AGE 1200M-
1st –Chief Inspector 2nd –Café Bar 3rd -Pankki 4th –Junk Bond

As App D Llambias was indisposed he was replaced as the rider of SHE’S ALL GREEK by D Baker.

CAFÉ BAR (R Kerwin) began awkwardly losing ground.

KING CARONA (C Baker) jumped in the air at the start and shifted out making contact with SHE’S ALL GREEK (D Baker).

PANKKI (G Williams) shifted out near the 350m forcing FLYING KWILA wider on the track.

A Post-Race Veterinary Inspection of COSSANTE (S Galvin) which finished a distant last failed to reveal any abnormalities.
