Stablehand C Campbell who was injured at the tie – up stalls was transported by ambulance to hospital for medical treatment.


RACE 1: MACQUARIE COTTON AUSTRALIA COTTON MERCHANTS CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1100M.

AMBER TRAIL jumped out at the start making contact with PUGGY, which was slow to begin.

PUISSSANT and RAFSO raced wide throughout.

MRS. MORTY was momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

Time off 12.35 PM.






RACE 2: PEABODY WILKIE CREEK PTY LTD MAIDEN PLATE - 1200M.

Both MY EXPRESS and ARID MISS were slow to begin.

Shortly after the start GOD’S LITTLE RIPA was taken out by SLICKS.

Leaving the 1000m SLICKS was eased when tightened for room by GOD’S LITTLE RIPA, which shifted in and away from BOLD PHAROAH.

Leaving the 600m MY EXPRESS was eased from the heels of CHARICOOL, which was eased from the heels of the tiring FAIRVIEW QUEEN, which was tiring.

BOLD PHAROAH raced wide throughout.

Both ARID MISS and GOD’S LITTLE RIPA raced wide from the 600m.

STACKER raced greenly in the early and middle stages.

REAL LIVE WOMAN shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.

Time off 1.10 PM.

RACE 3: BAYER CROP SCIENCE CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1000M.

BIKINI TYCOON was slow to begin.

MY BUTTONS, which was slowly away, was hampered by MAIZCAY QUEEN, which was taken in by RED MOUNTAIN, which jumped in.

Near the 400m BOLD SIGN shifted out and made contact with RED MOUNTAIN.

Both SECRET KNOWLEDGE and SUPER FRIEND dipped at the 400m.

Approaching the 300m SUPER FRIEND was eased from the heels of BANDSPEED, which was eased when crowded for room by the tiring BIKINI TYCOON, which rolled in.

Time off 1.45 PM.

RACE 4: E. D. STEWART & SONS QTIS ADDED STAKES 2 & 3-Y-O MAIDEN PLATE - 1000M.

Following race 3 the track was upgraded to dead at 1.55 pm.

Trainer W Chapman was advised that a barrier clearance is required for AUTHORIZE, which was difficult to load.

HOT TODAY, which jumped awkwardly and lost ground, raced greenly throughout.

Leaving the 900m QUICKLO, which shifted out slightly, blundered when it clipped the heels of SILVER HURON, which shifted in slightly.

Approaching the 400m AUTHORIZE was eased from the heels of HOT TODAY, which was taken out by JIKATEM.

Time off 2.30 PM.
RACE 5: SOUTH STATE FUEL LIGHTNING H'CAP – 800M.

SWEET RACER stood flat – footed as the gates opened losing considerable ground. Stewards placed a warning on SWEET RACER

LET FLY was slowly away.

MIGHTY BOMBER jumped away awkwardly.

STAR MASTER hung out throughout.

READY EDDIE raced wide throughout.

When questioned about the disappointing performance of MIGHTY BOMBER, Jockey L Appo stated that the gelding did not appear to handle the track, explanation noted. A veterinary examination of MIGHTY BOMBER, which weakened badly failed to reveal any abnormality. A swab sample was taken of MIGHTY BOMBER.

Time off 3.02 PM.

RACE 6: SUNCORP METWAY CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1400M.

Near the 800m, MAJOR DILEMMA brushed the running rail when crowded for room by MAJOR MACLEOD. J Sharp the rider of MAJOR MACLEOD was advised to exercise more care.

Near the 300m FOLLOW THE MAESTRO, which was tiring was eased when tightened for room between GREY HOMBRE and MAJOR MACLEOD, which shifted out.

When questioned about the disappointing performance of MAJOR DILEMMA, Apprentice S Van Klaveren stated that his mount did not travel well from the 800m and dipped on a number occasions. A veterinary examination of MAJOR DILEMMA failed to reveal any abnormality.

Time off 3.45 PM.

RACE 7: QUEENSLAND COTTON DALBY NEWMARKET H'CAP – 1200M.

On returning to scale Jockey M Dorrington rider of the 3rd placegetter MORINGA’S MANDRAKE lodged an objection against MUSTANG MAGIC, ridden by C Spry, being declared the winner for alleged interference near the 250m. After hearing evidence from riders, connections and viewing of the patrol film, Stewards dismissed the objection as stewards were of the opinion that the degree of interference did warrant the objection being upheld.

Near the 250m, MUSTANG MAGIC shifted out making contact with MORINGA’S MANDRAKE.

GROOVY MISS had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early and middle stages of the home straight.

Near the 200m GROOVY MISS was eased when crowded for room between SEMI ZOOM, which shifted out and RANGERS, which shifted in.

When questioned about the disappointing performance of ZEDATZI, Jockey J Sharp stated that his mount traveled well until the 400m but failed to respond once placed under pressure. J Sharp also stated that he was very disappointed in the performance, explanation noted.

Time off 4.27 PM.
RACE 8: SANTRO AINSWORTH CLASS B H’CAP – 1400M

Shortly after the start THE DRYDOCKER shifted in taking DABBLIN LANE and BOOMANARA GOLD in.

When questioned about the improved performance of SILVER HUNTER, stable representative Mr Keong stated that at the gelding’s last start over 1000m he was unable to muster early pace and the step up to 1400m is the reason for the improved performance, explanation noted.

Time off 5.08 PM.
