Prior to correct weight Stewards considered an objection lodged by jockey G Geran the rider of the 4th placed JUCO ROSSI against NEWMINISTER (S Bayliss) being declared 3rd alleging interference at the 200m and again over the final 50m. Stewards after taking evidence from all parties involved dismissed the protest .In the opinion of the Stewards the amount of interference alleged by Jockey Geran to the amount of ground supposedly lost did not warrant a reversal of the placing’s. Stewards therefore declared correct weight and confirmed the Judges original placings.
