Shortly after the start, TO BE KING (R. Goltz) and CROCKETT'S MISTAKE (N. Tomizawa) were crowded for room between BOOTALONG (B. Stower) and KOOL HEAVEN, which shifted out.
I AM ROGUE (R. Ride) hung out from approaching the 800m until rounding the home turn.
Leaving the 400m, WHO'S YOUR CADDY, was tightened for room between SINGARAJA (S. Apthorpe) and BOOTALONG, which shifted out.
Rounding the home turn, BOOTALONG was bumped by KOOL HEAVEN and in doing so had to be steadied from the heels of WHO'S YOUR CADDY.
J. Morris, rider of POLTICE was reprimanded for using his whip in one consecutive stride prior to the 100m.
Race 3: Dalby & Northern Downs Jockey Club Inc. QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate - 1400m
Correct weight was delayed to allow D. Missen, rider of CHINA BOB, which was placed second by the Judge, to view the official photo finish print for first. After viewing the print, D. Missen was satisfied with the Judge's placing’s and stewards gave correct weight on the Judge's numbers.

Near the 400m, AIN'T GOING DOWN (R. Ride) improved onto the heels of LATARNO (N. Tomizawa) and had to be steadied.
Stewards sought an explanation from trainer D. Peckett with regard to the seemingly improved performance of JUST AS SWEET. He stated that he was surprised by the win today and could only add that filly had been working well in the past weeks since returning to his stable from another trainer. Stewards noted the explanation.
Race 4: Dalby & Northern Downs Jockey Club Inc. Benchmark 70 H'cap - 1400m
Trainer G. Baker was fined $100 for failing to declare B. Appo as the rider for GAELSTORM by the prescribed time.
OUR GRAND FINALE (B. El-Issa) and GAELSTORM (B. Appo) made contact on jumping away.
MUJAHU (K. Matheson) overraced in the early and middle stages.
ANCHOR BOLT (L. Tilley) raced wide for the majority of the race.
BILLY GOAT (R. Ride) was held up from approaching the 500m until near the 250m.
Stewards questioned trainer B. Currie regarding the improved performance of OUR GRAND FINALE. He stated that he had made a gear change taking the blinkers off for today's race in an attempt to get the horse to settle in its races. He added that the horse raced with cover today and felt that given the chance to settle, the horse finished the race off and was of the opinion that this was a contributing factor in the improved performance. Stewards noted the explanation.
Race 5: Dalby & Northern Downs Jockey Club Inc. Class 1 H'cap - 800m
At the start, ELLIE BAY (J. Orman), SHEARER'S MAGIC (J. Missen), PRINCESS JAASI (F. Jervis) and FALISATY (T. Harrison) were all tightened for room between DRAGON STREET (K. Yoshida) and ARESVEPEE (C. Jokic) when both of those runners shifted ground.
THINKHESAURUS (B. Newport) began awkwardly.
Near the 500m, SHEARER'S MAGIC, whilst being restrained, shifted out and bumped PRINCESS JAASI, resulting in that runner becoming unbalanced and having to be steadied from the heels of ALL IN ALL.
Passing the 200m, ALL IN ALL (M. Vance) shifted out and bumped FALISATY.
WASHER (L. Tilley) was inclined to hang out throughout the race.
Stewards sought an explanation form jockey M. Vance with regards to the seemingly disappointing performance of ALL IN ALL. She stated that the filly began well but did not have any early speed and as a result she decided to take up a position with cover. She added that ALL IN ALL raced greenly and for this reason she placed the horse under pressure in the home straight hands and heels. Jockey Vance added that, in her opinion, the leaders went too quickly and that the horse would be better suited to races over further distance than that of today's race. Stewards noted the explanation.
Race 6: Dalby & Northern Downs Jockey Club Inc. Benchmark 75 H'cap - 800m
FLIGHT COMMAND (J. Missen) was slow to begin and then was bumped heavily by DAIRY (N. Tomizawa), which shifted out.

SERBIAN SINGER laid in rounding the home turn.
Race 7: Dalby & Northern Downs Jockey Club Inc. Rating 62 H'cap - 1788m
KING KAIYO (B. Appo) began awkwardly, losing ground.
GRAND DUKE (N. Yamada) began awkwardly.
SUPER CHEAP (I. Coombes) raced with its head in the air approaching the winning post on the first occasion and continued to race ungenerously until a point near the 1200m.
GRAND DUKE and ALL IN TIME (W. O'Connell) raced wide for the majority of the race.
Stewards sought an explanation from apprentice B. Stower and trainer T. Sears regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of DESERT HARRY. B. Stower stated that the horse jumped well and travelled comfortably throughout the race, however when placed under pressure from the 600m failed to respond to her riding. She added she was of the opinion that the short back up from its last run, together with the horse dropping back in distance, had an effect on the performance. Trainer T. Sears confirmed his disappointment in the performance and agreed with the comments of apprentice Stower. A post race veterinary examination of DESERT HARRY revealed the gelding to be exhibiting a poor oxygen delivery. Stewards advised T. Sears that he would be required to provide the results of an endoscopic examination to stewards before DESERT HARRY would be permitted to race gain.
Race 8: Dalby & Northern Downs Jockey Club Class 2 H'cap - 1200m
As jockey J. Morris was to be overweight, stewards permitted T. Harrison to be substituted as the rider of TENT HARMONY. J. Morris was fined $100.
Stewards will make enquiries with the Trainers Services Centre with regards to the official gear of KEEP YOUR HAT ON (S. Apthorpe).
Stewards ordered the late scratching of LADY OSCAR AT 4.51 PM on veterinary advice after the mare got down in the barriers and sustained an injury to its forehead.
Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on LADY OSCAR were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable:

RUSTIC PLAY (M. O'Brien) jumped with its head in the air.
PUTAPAVONIT (N. Tomizawa) was slow to begin.
EXCEPTION (E. Ljung) began awkwardly.
Near the 500m, STYLISH DRAGON (S. Drake) and TENT HARMONY (T. Harrison) bumped heavily.
Rounding the home turn, RUSTIC PLAY improved onto the heels of the tiring STYLISH DRAGON and when being restrained shifted out, resulting in EXCEPTION being tightened for room between that runner and KEEP YOUR HAT ON (S .Apthorpe).
MAY RAIN (R. Payne) raced wide throughout.
S. Drake the rider of STYLISH DRAGON, reported that it was her intention to position her mount with cover, however she was caught extremely wide shortly after the start and elected to let her mount stride forward. She added that her mount travelled well until the home turn where it put in an awkward stride and felt the horse had gone amiss in its action. She added that due to her concerns with STYLISH DRAGON’S action, she eased her mount down in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination of STYLISH DRAGON, revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer G. Cornish was advised that he would be required to provide a veterinary clearance for STYLISH DRAGON prior to its next race start.
