DINGO RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT – SATURDAY 19/07/2003

WEATHER – Fine TRACK – Good.
GENERAL.
RACE 1: CENTRAL PARK MOTEL MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 METRES (8 STARTERS)
DASHING RED (App H Wantanbe) was withdrawn by stewards acting on veterinary advice at 1.08 pm after the filly had become fractious in the barriers and subsequently injured herself. DASHING RED is required to complete a satisfactory barrier trial prior to her next race start. Prior to declaration of correct weight stewards ordered the deductions of 8cents in the win and 9 cents for the place would apply to all bets prior to the withdrawal of Dashing Red and that all monies wagered on the filly be refunded.
CANNINDAH ROAD (M Barnham) was slow into stride. BOMBADIL (App J Foster) travelled wide till the 200 mtr point. On return to scale Jockey R Mules rider of STAR OF THE BALLET reported that the filly resented the track surface and did not race truly.
RACE 2: HYNE & SON PTY LTD H'CAP - 1200 METRES (8 STARTERS)
VOLCANIC SPARKLE (G Bell) and ABBA JET(App J Foster) missed the start. ABBA JET was disappointed for a run at approx the 150 mtr point. Apprentice J Foster was reprimanded by stewards for brandishing his whip in a celebratory gesture prior to passing the post. ARR 137 (c).
RACE 3: REES R & SYDNEY JONES/COUNTRY CO CLASS D HANDICAP CLASS D H’CAP - 1200 METRES (8 STARTERS)
CHARNWOOD PRINCE (M Barnham) and KENDEL PRINCE ( G Bell) were both slow away.
No further racing incidents to report.
RACE 4: BROWN & HURLEY CLASS 2 H’CAP - 1000 METRES (8 STARTERS)
At approx the 700 mtrs TAS A BELLA (G Bell) had to be eased due to pressure from outside runners and subsequently lost his position in running. At a subsequent inquiry into the interference it was established that SNAPPY PHIL (App E Hooper) had rolled inwards for a stride at this point and caused ARCARENDI ( G Evans) to place pressure on SPEAR JET (D Whitmore) which shifted inwards and tightened TAZ A BELLA.
Stewards took no action against any participant and reminded all riders of their obligations to maintain a straight course in tight racing.
RACE 5: PURELEY ELECTRONICS CLASS 6 PLATE - 1400 METRES (7 STARTERS)
DUEMILA (App J Foster) travelled wide on the track from the home turn to find firmer footing.
No further racing incidents to report.
