WEATHER - OVERCAST TRACK - GOOD RAIL - 11.5M. ALL TRACK

GENERAL: As L. Hill was indisposed, the following replacements were approved: Race 1. ADAMMUP - S. Galloway; Race 4. GOT THE EDGE - A. Parramore; Race 8. FORGING'S LAD - J. Byrne.


RACE 1: KERI CRAIG H'CAP - 1660M.

IN THE GIDGEE, which was kicked behind the barriers, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed suitable to race.

CERTAIN SOUND and ADAMMUP were slow to begin.

Rounding the first turn as the pace eased, FLAG had to be steadied off the heels of RESPECT THE FLUSH and shifted out wider on the track.

Near the 300m., IN THE GIDGEE, when attempting a run between FLAG and MUSICAL TOTE, was inconvenienced when MUSICAL TOTE shifted ground to improve. J. Hoopert, rider of MUSICAL TOTE, was cautioned and instructed to allow more room when shifting ground.

Leaving the 300m., CERTAIN SOUND shifted out to improve and brushed RESPECT THE FLUSH.

J. Byrne had difficulty fully testing CERTAIN SOUND due to that gelding having a tendency to hang in over the concluding stages.


RACE 2: LYDIA JORDANE H'CAP - 1350M.

GENTLE, which jumped away awkwardly, shifted out, making contact with LADY SHERPA.

ASTRAL JOIE and GO GOLLY made contact on jumping away.

GOLD SEA shifted out at the start and brushed OPAL ICE.

Near the 1100m., FAVOUR THE BRAVE and GO GOLLY both had to be eased to avoid the heels of GRAZIN' FASHION, which shifted in. S. Katsidis, rider of GRAZIN' FASHION, was cautioned and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Passing the 800m., GOLD SEA hung out and made contact with GO GOLLY. GOLD SEA had a tendency to hang out from the 800m. until straightening.

Near the 200m., GOLD SEA was momentarily held up for a run between GO GOLLY and the tiring LADY SHERPA.

RACE 3: JUNIPER'S ZANZIBAR H'CAP - 1350M.

CHERMOULA sprawled on jumping away and cast his near-side front plate.

STEAL MY LOVE jumped inwards at the start, forcing PAMPER ME in on to ALL MIGHTY WAVE.

Leaving the 1200m., PAMPER ME had to be steadied to avoid the heels of MRS COSGROVE, which shifted in. S. Seamer, rider of MRS COSGROVE, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

After passing the 300m., RHYTHMIC GREY made contact with LONG TIME GONE when taken out slightly by MRS. COSGROVE.


RACE 4: BRISBANE ARCADE H'CAP - 1350M.

FLYING SPARKS was slow to begin.

MASTER MEDES jumped away awkwardly and lost ground at the start.

A short distance after the start, NOZSKIE shifted in and made contact with LONGREACH on 2 occasions.

N. Day, rider of NOZSKIE, was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in passing the 1100m., resulting in LOGREACH being taken in onto MASTER MEDES, which lost its position.

Approaching the 200m., NOZSKIE shifted out and hampered KWILA SPIRIT.

IANITIS had difficulty obtaining clear running over the concluding stages of the race.


RACE 5: CONRAD INTERNATIONAL TREASURY CASINO H'CAP - 1350M.

Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $50 for failing to notify M. Rodd as the rider of HUGE within the prescribed time.

NEUTRAL SKY and FERNDALE made contact at the start.

COURT MINSTREL was slow to begin.

It was noted that EASTERN COURT was caught wide after the start and was obliged to race wide for the entire race.

Leaving the 700m., when wide on the track, EASTERN COURT shifted in and made contact with LUK KAI LUK.

Near the finish line, EASTERN COURT shifted out under pressure, hampering DISTINCTLY and DOOGALL'S LUCK.



RACE 6: ELLE MAGAZINE H'CAP - 1110M.

STORMY BLUE jumped awkwardly.

DANCE IN THE DARK shifted outwards at the start, forcing GRANLASSUE on to the hind quarters of EVERY INTENTION.

Leaving the 800m., ANTARES had to be eased to avoid the heels of SHADIYM, which shifted in slightly.

Near the 200m., DANCE IN THE DARK shifted out under pressure.


RACE 7: THE MCGUIDAN WINE COMPANY DOOMBEN DASH - 1040M.

Trainer B. Bowditch was fined $50 for failing to notify J. Taylor as the rider of J. Taylor as the rider of DON'T TELL SEAN within the prescribed time.

ROYAL PHANTOM was tightened for room between GOLDEN EYE and LATIN QUARTER when both horses shifted ground at the start.

Apprentice N. Tomizawa was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount shifting in approaching the 800m., which resulted in ROYAL PHANTOM being taken in on to LATIN QUARTER, with the consequence of both horses being severely checked. N. Tomizawa was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 8 meetings, to commence at midnight, 21 October, and to expire at midnight, 5 November 2000. For some distance after this incident, ROYAL PHANTOM was inclined to race fiercely.

HAGAR THE HORRIBLE was unable to secure clear running until near the 200m..


RACE 8: W.A.A.A.F H'CAP - 1350M.

ICE PATROL jumped inwards at the start, forcing GREAT RELATIONS to come into contact with KAAPTIVE DELIGHT.





ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
