WEATHER – FINE TRACK - GOOD RAIL – OUT 1M
RACE 1: BRISBANE LEGACY H'CAP – 1350M
OPAL ICE was obliged to race wide in the middle stages.
When steadied to take a trailing position at the 1100m, the saddle on PAROLE shifted forward which immediately placed its rider J Taylor in an awkward position. As a consequence, PAROLE shifted out soon afterwards, bumping heavily with GRANLASSUE on a number of occasions and in turn forcing GRANLASSUE into a three wide position. J Taylor, the rider of PAROLE, was placed at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
RACE 2: PRECISION BADGES – BADGE & KEYRING SPECIALISTS H'CAP – 1350M
NO INCIDENTS.
RACE 3: GAYTHORNE RSL SERVICES CLUB H'CAP – 1350M
Approaching the 1200m DASH OF BAY shifted out, inconveniencing AKAABER'S PROMISE.
Leaving the 150m S Katsidis was obliged to pull the whip through to the right hand as a consequence of his mount AFLAC being inclined to lay in behind PYFO.
A veterinary examination of FRISKY STAR, which performed disappointingly, failed to reveal any abnormality. When questioned, M Cahill stated that although obliged to race three wide, FRISKY STAR travelled reasonably well, however he could offer no explanation for the gelding's failure to run on over the concluding stages.
RACE 4: MILLBANK PUBLICATIONS CHILD SAFETY HANDBOOK H'CAP – 1200M
FINGAH began awkwardly.
After travelling 100m TIMBER CINDERS was inconvenienced when cramped for room by SIR SIDNA.
At the 900m STELLAR ACE had to be steadied to avoid the heels of CENTONA which shifted in.
Stable foreman Mr L Birchley advised that as a result of TIMBER CINDERS' poor performance in today's event he would recommend that the mare be sent for a spell.
RACE 5: FOREST PLACE RETIREMENT VILLAGES H'CAP – 2020M
DIRECTOR'S SPECIAL was very slow to begin.
K Pope, the rider of ACTRESS GRACE, was cautioned for allowing his mount to shift in on the first turn resulting in STORMY LODGE being taken in on to TOY CAROUSEL, causing TOY CAROUSEL and HAPPY PRINCE to be crowded. In this incident HURRY HURRY had to be steadied off the heels of HAPPY PRINCE at the 1600m.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of DIRECTOR'S SPECIAL, apprentice N Evans stated that the gelding was reluctant to stretch out at any stage of the event. A veterinary examination of DIRECTOR'S SPECIAL failed to reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken. Trainer R Lipp indicated that DIRECTOR'S SPECIAL would be sent for a spell in light of today's performance.
RACE 6: GILSHENAN & LUTON – LAWYERS SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP – 1350M
MISS BENING, DEUXIEME and SHA ALMA all began awkwardly.
MIGHTY STRONGHOLD raced fiercely in the early stages.
When questioned, K Yoshida was unable to offer any explanation for SHA ALMA's disappointing performance. A veterinary examination of SHA ALMA failed to reveal any abnormality.
RACE 7: QUEENSLAND POLICE CREDIT UNION LTD H'CAP – 1200M
After travelling a short distance CEFFYL had to be steadied off the heels of OFFICER MATERIAL which shifted in when not quite clear. M Pelling, the rider of OFFICER MATERIAL, was urged to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
TENUOUS was forced to race wide in the middle stages.
LAURIE'S LOTTERY and MAKE MINE MAGIC came into contact at the 500m.
Over the concluding stages ALPINE EXPRESS and CEFFYL were inconvenienced when cramped for room between MAKE MINE MAGIC, which shifted out slightly, and SPYING, which shifted in under pressure. M Cahill, the rider of SPYING, was reminded of his obligations to straighten is mount in similar circumstances.
The Club's veterinary surgeon reported that MACHTIG MIHI PANIS bled from both nostrils subsequent to the event. As a consequence, the gelding will be ineligible to race for a period of three months.
RACE 8: THE JORDAN FERRIER MEMORIAL H'CAP – 1615M
ALCOUNT, which began to pull hard on the first turn, shifted out around the heels of EL CARTERO, forcing SO RADICAL wider on the track.
Upon straightening MIDNIGHT WARRIOR raced in restricted room between SO RADICAL and LUCKY LAURIE.
POTESTAS was held up for clear running until nearing the 100m.
RANSOME NOTE also had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the straight.
Over the concluding stages COURT COBAIN hung in under pressure, which obliged its rider M Rodd to cease riding with the whip.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
