WEATHER – SHOWERY TRACK - HEAVY RAIL – OUT 7M ALL TRACK

GENERAL: As S Katsidis was indisposed, the following riding replacements were approved:

RACE 1: DES CONNOR AUSTRALIAN RUGBY UNION H'CAP – 1350M

Apprentice L Meech, the rider of CHEMICAL BROTHER, was cautioned for the manner in which she shifted out around the heels of OH CANNY at the 500m which resulted in CHEMICAL BROTHER bumping heavily with PEARL STAR.

The Club's veterinary surgeon reported that PEARL STAR sustained a laceration to the outside of the near hind fetlock.

RACE 2: YALUMBA ROGER GOULD H'CAP – 1350M

At the 1000m MOLLY SINGER had to be checked off the heels of MODEL MATERIAL which was steadied by its rider after assuming the lead. A Merritt, the rider of MODEL MATERIAL, was cautioned for steadying the pace a little too abruptly.

RACE 3: KEITH WINNING CITY ROWERS SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP – 1350M

JOHN SYN was a little slow to begin.

M Rodd advised that when placed under pressure DANRULE floundered in the heavy going.

RACE 4: HAHN PREMIUM CHRIS HANDY H'CAP – 1110M

GEIGER DRAGON and HOLLY BUSH LANE were slow to begin.

RACE 5: STROPHAIRS PETER GRIGG H'CAP – 1640M

G Duffy, the rider of 5th placegetter SPORTS FREAK, was reminded of his responsibility to ride his mounts out to the end of the race at least hands and heels.

A random swab sample was taken from CARLTON LAD.

RACE 6: AUSTRALIAN RUGBY UNION MAX HOWELL H'CAP – 2220M

M Tarrant was substituted as the rider of BEACON due to S Galloway being overweight. Because of the prevailing conditions, stewards accepted S Galloway's reasons for being overweight.

PLACID REIGN was very slow to begin.

J Taylor, the rider of INVOICE, accidentally dropped his whip at the 600m.

RACE 7: CLASSIC WALLABIES ROD MCCALL H'CAP – 1200M

A veterinary examination of SCENIC FLIGHT, which performed disappointingly, failed to reveal any physical abnormality, however it was noted that the gelding had lost both front plates during the event. When questioned, G Duffy stated that the gelding failed to handle the heavy track and continually dipped in the run. A swab sample was taken from SCENIC FLIGHT.

RACE 8: CITY ROWERS DAVID WILSON H'CAP – 1110M

As K Yoshida had to fulfil a riding commitment in Toowoomba he was replaced by P Hammersley on NOBLE JEWELS. K Yoshida's master, T Sears, will be interviewed regarding this matter.

When steadied off the heels of THREATNER at the 500m, DROP ZONE shifted out inconveniencing NOBLE JEWELS and BROCARD.

DROP ZONE hung in under pressure over the concluding stages.

ALL WINNERS, CARLTON LAD AND SCENIC FLIGHT WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
