RACE 7: Raas Rights H'cap - 1200m.
Stewards concluded an adjourned inquiry into interference to DISTINCTLY. Apprentice D. Ballard, rider of MIGHTY ICON, was reprimanded and told to keep his mounts straighter in future.
RACE 8: The Resort News Entires and Geldings Class 1 H'cap - 1200m.
The club's veterinary surgeon reported that JO BRO had bled from the off-side nostril

RACE 1: LYNX ANTI-HANGOVER BODY SPRAY 3YO FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN PLATE - 1350M.
CONVOLUTION was a late scratching at 10.15 a.m. when it was found to have an elevated temperature. A veterinary certificate will be required prior to CONVOLUTION starting again.
At the start, RINADEENA jumped outwards, brushing RHODA'S ROSE on to YOUR KISS.
ANCIENT FORCE was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.
WILD EMBRACE was inclined to lay out approaching the winning post.
Shortly before the winning post, FORGOT eased from the heels of ANCIENT FORCE.
RACE 2: INHIBITIONS ADULT LIFESTYLE STORE 3YO AND UP MAIDEN H'CAP - 2050M.
As G. Colless was to be overweight, M. Pelling was substituted as the rider of UMABELLA and J. Byrne as the rider of MIGHTY BLAZE in race 7. G. Colless was fined the sum of $200. (AR120(b).
P. Hammersley was also overweight on FASTEST TIME. M. Carson was substituted as the rider of that gelding. P. Hammersley was fined the sum of $150. (AR120(b).
GOLDEN SILVER was fractious in the stalls prior to the start. GOLDEN SILVER and was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and found to have sustained contusions to the near hock and had muscle soreness over the loins on the near hind. GOLDEN SILVER was withdrawn by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice at 1.22 p.m.. All monies invested on GOLDEN SILVER were ordered to be refunded, with deductions of 6 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets, 7 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets to apply. Trainer R. Cole was informed he must provide a barrier certificate for GOLDEN SILVER before its next race start.
UMABELLA was slow to move when the gates were released, and then was forced to cover extra ground rounding the home turn.
Near the 1500m., FASTEST TME was eased when tightened for room between REBEL RANSOM and SATIN SECRETS.
An inquiry was held into the reason jockey B. Stewart was dislodged from FINAL JOURNEY at approximately the 600m.. Stewards established that near the 600m., FINAL JOURNEY, which was racing keenly, clipped the heels of SATIN SECRETS and blundered, dislodging B. Stewart. As a result, DARKWOOD LODGE, which was travelling behind, was inconvenienced by the riderless horse for the remainder of the race. B. Stewart was examined by the club's doctor and was cleared to ride for the remainder of the program. The club's veterinary surgeon reported that FINAL JOURNEY returned to scale with blood in its mouth as a result of a cut tongue.
Approaching the 200m., SATIN SECRETS was momentarily held up for a clear passage when travelling behind MISS DARBONNAIRE.
Near the 100m., CLASE BOY and HOO HOOKS brushed.
RACE 3: XXXX BITTER ENTIRES AND GELDINGS 3YO AND UP MAIDEN PLATE - 1350M.
At the start, MILITARIUS was slow to muster early speed.
Near the 1000m., DUKE SAM, when steadied in front, struck the running rail. As a result, MOBBSEY, which was travelling behind, eased and shifted out, brushing ZIPPY EYED on to INVISIBLE FORCE.
Near the 900m., MAXIMUM POWER and TYROGUE brushed.
From its wide barrier, MAXIMUM POWER was forced to cover extra ground for the major part of the event.
Approaching the 450m., MOBBSEY and MILITARIUS came together.
Nearing the 100m., CABARITA COUNTY shifted out slightly, brushing PEDRO'S ENCOUNTER.
RACE 4: EXTREME ACTION ADVENTURE CLASS 4 H'CAP - 2050M.
On jumping away, JILLIBY GIRL dipped and shortly afterwards KAWENDE, which had jumped in, carried HENRY THE OCTOPUS inwards, and at the same time, SOME RED shifted out, resulting in JILLIBY GIRL clipping the heels of SOME RED, losing a little ground.
In the early stages of the race, EARLSTOUN GRACE overraced and laid outwards.
JILLIBY GIRL travelled wide in the middle stages of the event.
Near the 350m., SOME RED was momentarily held up and taken wider on the track to obtain clear running.
RACE 5: CESARS NIGHTCLUB CLASS 3 H'CAP - 1200M.
VARNA jumped outwards at the start, brushing PRINCE OF PEMM.
Near the 900m., LOGGER steadied to avoid the heels of ARROWSWEEP.
A. Best, rider of VARNA, accidentally dropped his whip near the 200m..
HIALEAH STAR (M. Rice) laid outwards rounding the home turn and for the major part of the straight. Approaching the winning post, HIALEAH STAR commenced to shift outwards and in doing so caused DON SEQUALO to check, losing ground. This placed M. Rice at a disadvantage in riding HIALEAH STAR out. The club's veterinary surgeon reported that HIALEAH STAR had sustained a laceration to the inside of its mouth on the near side. Trainer T. Sears will be contacted regarding this trait in HIALEAH STAR.
RACE 6: PAUL MITCHELL WELTER - 1350M.
When the gates were released, TOBIANA reared, losing ground, and shifted inwards, bumping the hind quarters of STORMY LODGE, which became unbalanced.
Near the 900m., INNER CITY, which was racing fiercely, steadied to avoid the heels of MR CHEVY.
Approaching the winning post, MAY ROYAL (A. Best) shifted in under pressure, and MR CHEVY (E. Dredge) shifted out under pressure, causing INNER CITY to be checked, losing ground. Both apprentices were shown the patrol film and told to keep their mounts straighter in future.
RACE 7: NORTHERN CITY FINANCE H'CAP - 1350M.
After riding in race 5, B. Stewart was examined by the club's doctor and stood down from his remaining engagement on CHRISTMAS HANDOUT. N. Tomizawa was substituted as the rider of that gelding.
QUADRANGLE raced wide for the major portion of the event and was inclined to lay in in the straight.
Shortly after making the home turn, MIGHTY BLAZE shifted in slightly, causing LUST FOR VICTORY to be momentarily held up for a clear passage.
Approaching the winning post, when struck with the whip, BUZZ shifted out, forcing apprentice K. Cunningham to stop riding and straighten her mount.
The club's veterinary surgeon reported that ROAD TO HEAVEN was sore in the off fore leg. Trainer J. Wallace was informed he would have to provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for ROAD TO HEAVEN before his next race start.
RACE 8: SKY CHANNEL H'CAP - 1650M.
SOMERSET ROAD was withdrawn by order of the stewards at 3.30 p.m. when it was established that the gelding had been left unattended for several periods during the afternoon and had cast both hind plates lashing out in the tie-up stalls. Trainer Mr D. O'Leary will be contacted seeking an explanation why the horse was left unattended.
At the start, TELTREE was slow to move, losing a little ground.
Near the 1500m., L'ELEVE shifted in and bumped LINDHOLME.
L'ELEVE was forced to cover extra ground rounding the 1300m. turn.
HARD TO FORGET laid out rounding the home turn.
Near the 350m. and 50m., TELTREE was forced to ease when tightened for room between LINDHOLME and POSITIVE IMPACT.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
