SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

As D. Peisley was injured in a trackwork accident, A. Pattillo and K. Cunningham were ill, and A. Best experienced transport difficulties, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.


Race 1: The Cleanevent 3yo Fillies Maiden Plate - 1350m.
1st - Sadler's Brigg 2nd - Innocent By Birth 3rd - Boodini 4th - Lady Monashee

REGINA DESERT (A. Merritt) jumped outwards at the start, forcing SADLERS BRIGG (M. Cahill) out on to BROADBEACH BABE (G. Colless) and PRINCESS FONG (B. Stewart).

Passing the 1200m., SHE'S ROCKING (N. Jolly) commenced to overrace.

Passing the 1000m., LADY MONASHEE (S. Katsidis) had to be steadied off the heels of REGINA DESERT.

SHE'S ROCKING (N. Jolly) was held up for clear running in the straight.

BROADBEACH BABE (G. Colless), REGINA DESERT and LADY MONASHEE all raced wide for the majority of the race.





Race 2: The Cleandomain Class 3 H'cap - 1350m.
1st - Gold Solomon 2nd - Audubon 3rd - Smarten Classy 4th - Rapt In Blu

As no other replacement rider was available to ride he horse at the weight, S. Katsidis was granted permission to ride GOLD SOLOMON a half a kilogram overweight.

DELAGO DUMPER (B. El-Issa) jumped awkwardly and missed the start.

AUDUBON (S. Galloway) was inclined to overrace in the early and middle stages, and shortly after entering the straight was inclined to lay in.

Near the 200m., SMARTEN CLASSY (K. Pope) was hampered when RAPT IN BLU shifted out to improve. B Thomson, rider of RAPT IN BLU, was advised to exercise more care.

B. Thomson, rider of RAPT IN BLU, accidentally dropped her whip approaching the 150m..

When quesitoned concerning the disappointing performance of SPACE DREAM, A. Bailey stated that in his opinion the horse did not appreciate the step up in distance to 1350m..

RAPT IN BLU (B. Thomson) hemorrhaged from both nostrils during the event. In accordance with AR53A, RAPT IN BLU was declared ineligible to race for 3 months.


Race 3: The Gabba 3yo C&G Maiden Plate - 1350m.
1st - Masai Pride 2nd - Media Fund 3rd - Manilla Boy 4th - Prince Of Yodells

SUPERCILIOUS (M. Cahill) sprawled on jumping away.

SPACELY (B. Poulus) faltered on jumping away and shifted out, making contact with PRINCE OF YODELLS.

Near the 800m., MASAI PRIDE (B. El-Issa) pulled its way up inside the heels of PRINCE LIONHEART (B. Pengelly) and raced in an awkward position for some distance.

PRINCE OF YODELLS (N. Jolly) was held up for some distance after leaving the 300m..

When questioned concerning the disappointing performance of MANILLA BOY, S. Katsidis stated that he asked the horse for an effort from the 500m., however the MANILLA BOY did not initially respond to his riding and he felt that the horse took tome time to balance up. He added that MANILLA BOY may be looking for further as it could not sprint when initially placed under pressure. A veterinary examination of MANILLA BOY failed to reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken.

Race 4: The Collex Maiden H'cap - 1650m.
1st - Miss Beachley 2nd - Fine Weather 3rd - Latin Tango 4th - Prince Cartier

Trainer J. Goodwin's representative Mr Quilligan was informed that a fine of $100 would be imposed on the trainer for the late notification of rider for SECRET SILVER.

Following his ride in race 1, A. Merritt was examined by the club's doctor and stood down from his remaining engagement on SECRET SILVER. Stewards ordered that A. Merritt be stood down from riding until such time as he passes medical tests following a consultation with medical practitioner approved by Queensland Racing.

A veterinary examination of TAMING THE SHREW at the barriers prior to racing passed the horse to race.

After travelling a short distance, PRINCE CARTIER (R. Mason) commenced to lay out, resulting in HOT AIR (S. Galloway), MR PHOENIX (B. El-Issa) and MISS BEACHLEY being hampered. In this incident, MISS BEACHLEY brushed the hind quarters of FINE WEATHER.

REMEMBER PICKY (M. Crawford) raced 3 wide in the early and middle stages.

Shortly after straightening LATIN TANGO (R. Plumb) was disappointed for a run to the inside of SECRET SILVER (K. Yoshida), and was then held up for clear running until the 100m..

Near the 200m., HOT AIR (S. Galloway) shifted in and made contact with PRINCE CARTIER (R. Mason).

MADGE WILDFIRE (K. Pope) had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight.

Following the race it was reported that TAMING THE SHREW hemorrhaged from both nostrils. Subsequently the horse was barred from racing for a period of 3 months in accordance with AR53A. A veterinary examination of TAMING THE SHREW confirmed that the horse had hemorrhaged and a swab sample was taken.


Race 5: The Lexmark Indy 300 Class 5 H'cap - 1110m.
1st - Suubird 2nd - Rock Of Mufasa 3rd - General Patton 4th - High Spy

No racing incidents.

Race 6: The Ekka Class 3 H'cap - 2060m.
1st - Special Langfuhr 2nd - Minoa 3rd - Grand Semi 4th - Alaana's Song

GRAND SEMI (S. Seamer) blundered on jumping away.

At the 800m., GEOGRAPHICAL (S. Katsidis) brushed the running rail. IF MAROOF (K. Yoshida), which was following, shifted out to avoid heels and made heavy contact with AGRIOS (C. Small).

FUHRMILION (S. Drake) and LITTLE LEGEND (K. Pope) raced wide in the early and middle stages.

Passing the 400m. MEMPHIS TENNESSEE (B. El-Issa) improved on to the heels of FUHRMILION (S. Drake) and had to be steadied and as a result shifted in, momentarily tightening the ground of IF MAROOF (K. Yoshida). Also in this incident, MINOA (B. Pengelly), when steadied off the heels of MEMPHIS TENNESSEE, shifted out on to YOSSARIAN (S. Galloway), which in turn shifted out, making heavy contact when GRAND SEMI. ALAANA'S SONG, which was following, was inconvenienced.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of GEOGRAPHICAL, S. Katsidis stated that he had been requested by connections to lead, however he was unsuccessful and elected to trail the leader. S. Katsidis added that the horse was travelling okay until the 600m., however over the final 300m. GEOGRAPHICAL failed to respond and compounded over the final 300m.. A veterinary examination of GEOGRAPHICAL failed to reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken.

When questioned concerning the disappointing performance of IF MAROOF, K. Yoshida stated that after receiving some tightening near the 800m. and again on the home turn, the horse seemed to lose interest in the race. Trainer M. Flanigan reported that the horse has in the past shown a resentment to being checked in races and seems to lose interest. He stated that in his opinion IF MAROOF may be better placed racing outside horses rather than inside.

Race 7: The Visy Class 4 H'cap - 1650m.
1st - Allambie 2nd - King Cartier 3rd - Lindholme 4th - Tom Kitten

Due to transport difficulties, A. Best was unable to fulfil his engagement on SAMSUM and was replaced by C. Small.

Stewards questioned trainer M. Thexton and jockey B. El-Issa in relation to the notification of D. Green as the rider of ASTRA CITI after she had engaged B. El-Issa when he had been dually engaged. Following the explanation, stewards gave M. Thexton the benefit of the doubt.

Stewards accepted the explanation of trainer K. Davis for declaring G. Farrer as the rider of VEE ROD after the deadline.

Rounding the home turn, LINDHOLME (S. Katsidis) shifted out and made contact with BRANCH (S. Galloway).

Race 8: The Paul Schultz 3yo & Up Plate - 1200 m.
1st - Junk Bond 2nd - Don't Tell Anna 3rd - Sound Scheme 4th - Mr Clang

Apprentice N. Thomas was fined $50 for failing to weigh in 5th on GINNY SWEEP.

DELTA GUN (B. El-Issa) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, inconveniencing JUNK BOND (K. Pope), SOUND SCHEME (B. Pengelly) and DON'T TELL ANNA (G. Colless).

Near the 800m., MERMAIDS (S. Galloway) improved up on to the heels of OURAGAN (B. Thomson) and had to be steadied and shift wider on the track.

LAND SHARK (S. Katsidis) and GOTHEHOLEHOG (M. Smith-Lester) were caught wide throughout the race.

Near the 300m., OURAGAN improved up on to the heels of JUNK BOND and had to be steadied.

ALL WINNERS, RAPT IN BLUE, TAMING THE SHREW, GEOGRAPHICAL AND MANILLA BOY WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
