Trainer B. Smith could offer no excuse for the performance other than that the horse prefers tracks with a bit more give in them.
A post-race veterinary examination of AEROSOL revealed the horse to be sore in both fore fetlocks. Trainer P. Smith was at a loss to explain today’s performance but added that the horse had worked well leading into today’s event and the connections had expected a forward showing. He added that the only explanation he could offer was that the horse performs better on tracks with a bit more give in them than today’s.
